Press Release
Coruscant-The sight here has been one of calm and serenity, despite an attempt by the Galactic Defense Initiative to harbor a destructive rebellion, the long standing citizens of the New Republic have actually paid little to no attention to the rising conflict over Eriadu. While some mothers in Corellia and perhaps a few in Coruscant worry for their children who fight for the cause of freedom and democracy, they trust in the Republic's ability to bring them home.
However, due to wild allegations by the Galactic Defense Initiative, the New Republic has issued an embargo on all trade with the said faction, stating that quote, "The day we supply terrorists with merchandising is the day the New Republic caves in on itself."
This has been made in response to countless terrorist attacks made by the Galactic Defense Initiative and an attempt to extort allied factions for precious minerals and natural resources to further their war machine.
Sources from inside Thyferra indicate that Dxun Isstal - or one of his representatives - had jumped into the system, taken a battlecruiser to the planet itself, and began making demands on the Cryonics Industries there.
When Cryonics Industries would not bend, the Defense Initiative made threats on the company's standing and the persons involved there.
Similar reports come from the Empress Teta system where Admiral Drayson of the Galactic Defense Initiative threatened the Tetan Confederacy for stocks of carbonite.
The leaders of the New Republic question the sanity of Dxun Isstal, who claims that the New Republic have violated a no-fire pact, despite that fleet there has not fired a single shot, if anything having disarmed their weapons as a "sign of good faith".
However in a futile gesture to intimidate and drive away the New Republic forces there, Isstal has made countless threats and other forms of jibberish. Claiming it seems that the New Republic works on the Jutraalian Empire's payroll, he hopes to legitimize a massive attack against the New Republic, experts on Talus say.
"Admiral Mnar is a good man, been fanatical, but he's a good guy," said one off duty naval crewman who works aboard the admiral's flagship. "Stupid things like insults and threats aren't going to drive him from a battle he knows in his heart has to be fought."
Similar reports come from all about the Republic territories.
Other members indicate that while this may infact seem like a brash action, no one knows when the Initiative's attacks will cease and who will and will not be caught up in the crossfire between Isstal's lust for power, and the Republic's desire to defend herself.
Inquisitor Aryx Kiildra of the Jutraalian Empire had this to say:
"The Galactic Defense Initiative is in a corner at the moment where its allies of have seen the terror it attempts to ensue and have backed away from thus. There is no standing morals left in Commander Isstal, and after seeing thus the New Republic moved to intervene. Is this terrorism? I think not! This is rather a move of long provocated aggression in an attempt to defend Republic lives before the battle comes to Republic homes."
The Jutraalian Empire denies any assistance to the New Republic in this impending conflict, however indicates that if the propaganda does not cease and the countless threats and lies based toward the empire do not simply "disappear" as Emperor Fearsons has stated, then they shall be forced to involve themselves.
Upon asking one of the admirals of the empire why the Jutraalians would get involved over such a matter, they had this to say:
"The Galactic Defense Initiative is begging the Jutraalians to get involved. I personally don't think we should displease him."
Rather it appears the entire military wants to off and fight with the Initiative, but apparently the only thing holding them back is Emperor Fearsons's denial of permission to carry out this battle. While he desires the Initiative's collapse, he is not willing to defy an agreement that he signed for the sake of personal vendetta, nor will the higher up politicians within the Jutraalian Empire.
However, should blows come to blows it is expected that Eriadu will be the site of an intense battle between the three factions.
The no fly zone effect remains until the end of this conflict, according to Jutraalian starfighter commanders.</font>
