Is there a faction that would allow me to perform roleplays, but not remain entirely dedicated to the faction?

I enjoy writing, but at the moment I don't have time to dedicate myself to a faction on a full basis. I'd like to do character development roleplays.... My character is a Chiss.

Perhaps, later... when I learn more about this RPG, I could create a new Chiss faction based on old factions pasts

Basicly, I don't have time to commit myself. Anyone interesting in harboring my character until I can?

Well, TNO is probably the best considering your charactor. I'm assuming you intend to use him in a fleet capacity. If not, TNSO has always had an extremely open policy on its members, being sith after all tends to lend them to ignoring restrictive regulations.

Yeah, if you want to do a Chiss either independent or TNO will do.

It is not required to be part of a group. If you want to fight against other factions in a fleet manner, eg: damaging their assets, then yes, you have to be part of a group.

If all you want to do is write, you can pretty much do whatever you want.

Yes. You can't use NPC fleets against OOC fleet assets, though. You can use them in your storylines, though.
