George R.R. Martin's series, "A Song of Fire and Ice" has come to television, by way of HBO at long last and I just have to say hurray!

Kneel Before Zod!
It actually followed the book better than I thought it would.

I haven't watch it yet, but the trailer I saw for it was very promising. I'm looking forward to watching it this weekend.
Would be nice if the series of books was actually finished being written though.

Imagine if we had to wait for all the Star Wars series to finish up, in book form, before any televised media could be produced? That would suck. But I totally read you, however; I'm on a high from the show still, enough that I'm trying not to see the negatives.
Also, do want dyre wolves.

Oh, I'm not saying the series need to finish before the TV show starts, I'm just saying I'm waiting impatiently for the next book to come out. I think between the books they have out already they can go a few seasons while we wait for the next one anyway.

Ah. I've been reading "The Night Angel" trilogy by Brent Weeks. If you like the style of A Song Of Fire And Ice you'll probably dig these novels. They have a very gritty, unfiltered feel following the story of various characters, though the clear protagonist, Kyler "Azoth" Stern, is a sympathetic and tortured character training/trained in the ways of the 'wetboy' (read: assassin) grappling with his own sense of morality.

So what, did you read the word 'wetboy' on the back of the book and buy it automatically?
