We've got two pretty decent maps already, but if one were to be thinking about recreating the TRF map, what would be the best existing canon SW map to start with? Anyone seen anything good lately?

Is dead. Would rather not be.
The most recent post in the "Galaxy Map" thread actually has a scan of the galaxy map from the new Atlas, but the shading of the galactic disc makes reading the planet names somewhat difficult (at least in the scan. I don't have the Atlas myself).
Personally, I prefer the "current" map, the overhead view that has each Rim shaded a different color; however, I'm not sure how I feel about the whole "spheres of influence" thing, where whole regions around planets are shaded in a faction's color.
By the way (and I'm not sure that it matters to anyone), the map currently linked on that page is not the most recent. Wes actually made a newer map using the "spheres of influence" faction shading (found here).

I'm with Smarts on the preference issue, and as far as the whole 'Sphere of Influence' goes, I would prefer not to see that on the Galaxy Map, since the 'influence' doesn't dictate control, possession, or ownership for that region of space, only that it's under that respective faction's influence, as far as travel, trade, and the etc goes.

If needed, I still wouldn't mind updating it regularly.

Wes, how would you feel about creating a bigger map, custom built for TRF?

Wes Vos:Holy shit, Wes is back. I thought you'd left us? Or was that just me imagining things again?

I took a short hiatus, but I should be around more now. Titus, sure, I can do that.
