We've all seen the debates about whether Han shot first or not. Really it's just because Lucas changed it when he re-released the movie but I found something that I thought was very funny.

For Christmas Archie bought me several vintage Star Wars books. One published in 1979, titled 'Han Solo at Stars' End', had this to say on page 81.

Han made a sour face. "I happen to like to shoot first, Rekkon. As opposed to shooting second." But he lowered his weapon, and Chewbacca did the same with the bowcaster. Rekkon worked the door controls.

That's from the man himself! He likes to shoot first

It was correct, once upon a time, to say, "Han shot first."

However, thanks to the re-imagination of George Lucas, the correct statement today would be, "First, Han shot first."
