Kamon sat in his usual spot in the lush tropical forest of Tholatin. The flowers bloomed in an ever present fashion. He had been ordered by his Emperor to seek out three planets and colonize them. It sounded easy enough, but probably would end up not being easy.

He got up and walked down the path that led back to his palace. He nodded to the two guards at the walls, then entered the palace grounds. He walked to the anteroom. A group of people sat there, quietly. Kamon approached the podium and stood there.

"Today marks the beginning of a new era. As we speek, our ships are being prepped for a colonization attempt. Besides being a colonization, we will be eliminating some pirates. We are going to hit Airam, Anaul, and Rineeki in full force with some assistance from our Emperor. You have all already received your orders. Now, go to your ships and wait. I will begin our mission soon." He took a drink of water as he ended his speech.

The Admirals and Generals left the room quietly. Kamon himself was tired and headed for his room. There, he flopped down in his bed. He calmed himself with the force, then dozed off.

 A knock came at his door, and Kamon stirred in bed. The person knocking persisted, and Kamon roused himself enough to talk.

“Who is it?”  He said with a yawn.

“Its Radon,”  The other replied.

“Just a second.”

 He stifled another yawn as he got out of bed. He rubbed cold water on his face to wake himself up, then put on his Jedi robes. He snapped his lightsaber onto his belt, and put on his wrist comlink. Opening the door, he admitted Radon to the room. 

 Radon bowed as he entered, then walked over and sat in one of the chairs in Kamon’s room. Kamon closed the door, then sat down on the edge of his bed.

“I know this will be hard on you because this is the sector where your sister was last seen. For all we know, she may still be in the sector. An advance team has already been sent to each of the planets. One in particular holds our interest. Rineeki to be exact. The advance team there was killed,” Kamon winced. He disliked losing men. “But they sent us a message just before they died. It is addressed to you so no one has read it.”

 Radon handed Kamon a datacard. Kamon placed it in a holoprojector, then hit the on button. A man’s figure appeared in front of him.

“My Prince, I bring you word of encouragement. One of our operatives infiltrated a prisoner facility before he died. He sent us a message saying that your sister is alive, but is sick and starving. The operative managed to slip her some nutri-bars, and that seemed to help…. possible to …. if ground…” The picture broke up and was soon lost.

 Kamon smiled. This brought him hope. The last member of his family besides him was still alive. Kamon turned to Radon.

“This is great news. We must move quickly to see that she is rescued. I do not want to risk another team, however. We will have to move on Rineeki first. Do you have the list of Task Forces?”

 Radon nodded and handed Kamon a datapad. It read: “Colonization Task Force Listings.” Kamon scrolled through the listings.

“This is all of our ships. How will we protect Tholatin if we take all of our ships with us?” Kamon asked.

“Task Force Defender will remain at Tholatin to protect it. The other three Task Forces will go with us. Oh, I also have the listing of where all the fighters will be.” Radon said as he handed Kamon another datapad.

“This is good Radon. Good work. Get everyone ready to go so we can leave as soon as possible. The sooner we get this colonization done, the better. Besides, I want to see my sister again. And I want to see her alive.” Kamon said as he set the datapads aside.

“Yes, sir. I am going up to the Ausschnitt right now. I will have everything ready by the time you arrive on the Starfire.” Radon said as he stood up.

 He walked over to the door, opened it, and left the room. Kamon flopped down on the bed again. He was thankful that he had gotten some rest.  This is going to be one long mission. I hope it goes well and we don’t take too many casualties.

Radon walked through the castle in the general direction of the hanger. He first wanted to stop off at the weapons room and pick some things up. He entered the room, and walked over to the wall. On it hung a vast array of weapons. Including the two things he had expertise in using. One was the BlasTech T-21 Light Repeating Blaster; the other was a Golan Arms FC1 Flechette Launcher.

 When he was done there, he headed for the hanger. There he boarded his shuttle and shot away from the planet. He looked out the viewport and watched the planet fall away beneath him. The Ausschnitt loomed in front of him. The round modules of the Mon Calamari cruiser were enough to give any smaller opponent pause. The shuttle folded its wings and docked in the docking bay.

 He left the bay and headed for his quarters. There, he changed into his Admiral uniform, and placed his weapons in a locker. He drank a small glass of whiskey, then headed for the bridge. There, he sat down in his command chair and turned to the communications officer.

“Send a message to Emperor Fearsons telling him we are prepared to begin the mission, and will launch when Prince Vondiranach boards the Starfire.” He said.

“Yes, sir.”  The Officer replied.

“Now patch me through by holo to General Skai and Commander Tryvl.”

“Yes, sir.”

 Soon two holos appeared in front of him. The man and woman saluted him. He returned it.

“At ease. General Skai, are your forces prepped and ready for departure?”  Radon asked.

“Yes, sir. All fighters are either in hanger bays, or floating next to the capital ships. All ships are ready and are on alert status Yellow 1.”  The man said.

“Good. Commander Tryvl. How have you arranged Task Force Defender around the planet?”  Radon asked.

“They are in permanent orbits around Tholatin’s North and South poles, as well as around the Equator. Some of the fighters are stationed on the ships, on the planet, or on the Golans. The fifty Clawcraft are out on patrol. At this time they have passed through the mine field, and are spreading out to patrol the whole of our space.”  The woman reported.

“Good. Stand by. Prince Vondiranach’s shuttle should be leaving the planet here soon. Good hunting, and may the Force be with you.”
 Radon shut off the holo projector and sat back in his chair. He was waiting for his Prince to give the order to move out.

Kamon walked down one of the many halls in his palace. He stared into the many empty room the lined the wall. They were extremely large rooms, and were going to waste because of the lack of use. He passed them by and entered the mess hall.

 He ordered a meal, and ate it. Walking out of the hall, he headed for the hanger bay. A single Chiss Clawcraft from his Task Force was sitting there. He climbed in, and powered up the craft. Receiving clearance from flight control, he shot out of the hanger.

 Kamon watched the endless expanse of trees disappear from view. Then he broke atmosphere, and was heading for his command ship. The ship hailed him, and he gave his recognition code. The Starfire cleared him for docking, and he entered the docking bay.

 He clambered out of the starfighters hatch, and walked his way to the control room. Approaching the officer on duty, he pulled off his gloves.

“Corporal, see that the fighter I flew in has a pilot to fly it when we need it on the battlefield.”  He ordered.

“Yes, sir.”  The Corporal replied.

 He left the control room and entered a turbolift. The lift shot him up to the bridge where he exited it. He walked down to the lower bridge, and spoke to the Communications Officer.

“Patch me through on my command chair comlink to Admiral Mont.”  He said.

“Yes, sir.”

 Walking back up the stairs to the main bridge, he sat down in his command chair. Soon enough a miniature image of Admiral Radon Mont appeared in front of him. The image saluted him.

“At ease, Admiral. You know you don’t have to salute me all the time, Radon. We grew up together after all. Now, back to business. Are the Task Forces prepared to depart?”

“Yes, sir. All Task Forces are prepped. Capital ships are on alert status Yellow 1. All fighters are either deployed in a wedge formation in front of the capital ships, or are still in the ships hangers. We are ready for battle.”

“Very good, Radon. We will move through the mine field now.”

“Yes, sir.”

 The three Task Forces that were assaulting the three pirate held planets began to move forward. They moved swiftly and carefully through the minefield, and came out the other side. No accidents were reported, and the ships prepared to enter hyperspace on Kamons mark.

 Kamon waited a few minutes for the rear patrol fighters to catch up to the rest of the fleet. They soon did, and Kamon opened a com channel to the commanders of each ship. He gave the order to jump.

 The stars outside the Starfire elongated, and became a solid wall of white. The ship had entered hyperspace and was on its way to Rineeki. The most heavily fortified planet of the three the Tholatin Republic would be assaulting. It wouldn’t be a long trip.

Upon Prince Kamon’s mark, the Ausschnitt jumped into hyperspace along with the rest of Task Force Firebird. Task Force Firebird was in charge of the night side of the planet and taking out the pirates nest on that side of the planet. His part was the hardest because he had to position his troops in certain positions because he was the only Task Force on that side of the planet.

 He decided to go to his quarters for a short while. It would only take one day to reach Rineeki, and he wanted to be rested. He announced that he wanted everyone to get some sleep because he wanted them rested for the fight. The hodgepodge of species that manned the ship would need different amounts of rest. After all, the Tholatin Republic was not a prejudiced faction and loved to have other species in its fleet.

 They specifically liked having the Ryn in the fleet to man the smaller cruisers. They were usually excellent pilots. During the crisis with the Yuuzhan Vong, Tholatin had accepted the responsibility of transporting Ryn to other worlds. They had learned firsthand the abilities that these small aliens had. The Tholatin pilots had been astounded by their abilities and had recruited many of them.

 Not long after the crisis, they had become a Monarchy. That didn’t last for long, however. There of course still is the Royal family, being Prince Vondiranach. But they had become more of a Republic because Prince Kamon felt that the people should have a say in what the Faction did. And that had been what they wanted. Soon enough they found themselves where they are today.

 Radon walked down the hall toward his quarters. He nodded to a group of Ryn technicians that he passed in the hall. They saluted him, but Radon ignored it. Being too much of a military man could lead to crewmembers not wanting to obey orders. Treating them like everyone else meant they would all see each other as equals. Radon liked that. It meant he wouldn’t have to deal with insubordination. He hated that the most.

 Entering his chamber, he nodded to his two guards from the Royal Phalanx Guard Corp. They saluted and resumed their positions at the door. The RPGC was easy to tell apart from any other type of guards. They wore black pants with a goldish-red stripe down the side. Their shirts were gold with a blood red x in the center. Attached to the shirt was a black cape. It also had a blood red x on it. Their helmets were similar to the helmets of the Imperial Navy Troopers. They were black and had the Phalanx symbol on them.

 The phalanx symbol was complex, and not easy to describe. Every line in it could change color at any moment. The crown in its center with an x on it signified the House Vondiranach. The shaking hands in the background signified the union of the Republic. Then the broken circle surrounded it. It was missing one small piece at the bottom. This signified that the galaxy still was broken and full of evil. The Republic was determined to end this.

 Radon entered the inner chamber, and flopped down on his bed. He pulled off his boots and his shirt. Hanging them on his coat hanger, he laid down. Soon he was asleep. He dreamt of the victory that would be accomplished the next day.

The fleet exited hyperspace behind the planets twin moons. They powered down, and launched probe droids to explore the planets defenses. They encountered a Golan III station that was orbiting the planet. TTR Intelligence had stated that it held a small amount of light assault craft. They would not be to large to handle.

 Next they encountered the small defense fleet that the pirates owned. The largest of these ships was a Corellian Corvette. Task Force Firebird could easily handle this small armada. The armada had fighters but they were regular uglies. Nothing that could be of much threat to the Republics fighters. The probes returned to the fleet undetected.

 At 0700 hours, the fleet left the safety of the twin moons, and moved to attack. It had been decided that this was the best time to attack because most of the pirates would be really tired. This was considering the fact that Rineeki did not go by Coruscant hours.

 The Task Forces headed for their designated assignments and commenced the assault. Task Force Whisper began to soften up the planet for the troops that would be going down later. Firebird moved in and opened up on the enemy fleet. Spear headed straight for the Golan.

 The Golan launched its ships, and Task Force Spear’s fighters began taking runs on them. Soon enough, red dots began to wink out on the sensors board. The capital ships moved in to attack the Golan, and met with some resistance from its guns.

 The Starfire opened up upon Kamons order, and lances of red and green energy impacted on the Golan. Chunks of metal melted or blew off of the station. Kamon focused the Starfire’s attack on the command deck. The Starfire’s guns opened up on the Golan, completely obliterating the command area.

 Lances of energy continually impacted on the Golan, and a few minutes later the station exploded in a bright flash of light. The Task Force had only taken minor damage, a few hits here and there on ships. Easily fixed when the chance came about.

 Task Force Spear moved into a permanent orbit around the planet. The landing craft were already being loaded with troops and equipment. Kamon slipped into one of them so he could be among the troops on the ground. He wasn’t going to be there to fight, though. He was going to free his sister from the prison where she was being held.

 The fleet launched its landing craft, and continued to orbit the planet. Kamon glanced out the viewport, and watched as the planet soared up at him. Soon enough, he could make out the AT-AT’s that had already been landed on the planet. They were exchanging fire with anti-vehicle weapons. Small explosions erupted all across the ground.

 The shuttle landed, and Kamon was the first person to leave the craft. He drew on the Force and pushed it into his legs to give him more speed when running. He took off, running across the land at speeds no one but a Jedi could reach on foot. Entering the capital city, he headed directly for the prison where his sister was being held.

 When he reached the prison, he encountered a full squad of pirates that were on duty guarding the prison. He approached them with utter calmness. One of them gave a guttural shout, and the squad lifted its blasters to point at him. Raising one hand in what they determined was a halt signal, he fired for blasts from the palm of his hand. The blasts were a technique called Spark of the Lightside, and would sear through almost anything.

 Four of the pirates fell dead. The rest opened up with their blasters. Kamon drew his lightsaber, and moved in among them, blocking shots hear, slicing off body parts there. Soon enough the squad of pirates was lying motionless on the ground. Kamon had a couple of graze marks from blaster bolts, but he ignored them.

 Moving into the building, he headed for the control room. The two guards in the room were easily neutralized by Kamon. The techs scrambled against the wall. Kamon motioned to them.

“What cell are you holding a woman named Leeli Vondiranach in?”

“C-cell 1-104,” One of the pirates managed to stammer.

“Thank you.”

 Leaving the room, he followed the hall to a turbolift. He stepped in and shot up to the second level. Following the hall, he approached room 104. He drove his lightsaber into the access panel, and the door slid open. Kamon looked in, and fell to his knees crying.

 His sister lay against the wall, dead. A single scorch mark on her chest suggested a blaster was the means of death. Suddenly, anger and rage seized control of Kamon. He stormed out of the building where he encountered two Pirates. They shouted and charged him. Kamon whipped his lightsaber up, and the first pirates head flew a full 15 yards down the street. Turning, his lightsaber sliced clean through the others head.

 More pirates and a few RPGC charged at him for their own reasons. Kamons lightsaber sliced away, not caring where it hit. Suddenly, he managed to regain control of himself. The anger and hatred left him. He looked down and was mortified. Two of his Phalanx Guards lay dead by his doing. He shut down his lightsaber, fell to his knees, and cried.

Radon’s Task Force Firebird approached the enemy armada. Fighters were already fighting, but TTR’s fighters easily outmatched the enemy’s uglies. The Ausschnitt came into firing range on the enemy Corvette, and opened up. Lances of energy, as well as torpedoes and missiles, impacted on the ships hull. Return fire was small due to the enemy’s smaller ship with less guns.

 The enemy vessels shields went down, and the ship broke up under the continuing assault. The Ausschnitt moved to attack some of the smaller vessels, and opened up on a group of YT class freighters. It took a short amount of time for the Mon Calamari’s heavy guns to deal with these small pests.

 Reports came in that the enemy fleet was eliminated, and that no major damage had been sustained. The Task Force moved into a permanent orbit around Rineeki, and began to launch its shuttles. Radon was aboard one of them.

 They landed on the planets surface and dispatched their troops. Radon held his BlasTech T-21 Light Repeating Blaster in his hands. The troops moved for the city where they encountered small pockets of pirates that were trying to hold out. One foolish group was brave enough to charge at the TTR troops. Radon cut them down with his blaster.

 They approached the prison where Radon knew Prince Kamon would be. What he didn’t expect to see was Kamon kneeling on the ground crying. Radon feared the worst and was justified when he saw the mess that Kamon had left on the ground. Radon approached Kamon.

“What happened, my Prince?”

“The Sithspawn Pirates killed my sister. That’s what happened. Then my anger and rage took over me and I came out here and cut up all these pirates, and some of my RPGC.”

“I’m so sorry. I thought we would get here in time, but apparently not. Well, at least you know the Pirates that did it are dead. We killed all non-civilians. At least that’s what the reports say. Rineeki is ours, sir. We are one step closer to the elimination of Pirates.”

“I know. I know. Radon, begin the cleanup of the cities. I don’t want people being homeless for too long. Besides, I want them to feel comfortable under our rule.”

“Yes, sir.”

 Radon headed off to a communications station. There he sent out a broadcast to all of the Tholatin Republic troops on the planet, to begin the cleanup of the planet. Acknowledgements came in from every city, and Radon headed for the shuttles. He wanted to be in charge up in space.

 Soon enough he was sitting in his command chair supervising the defense of the planet for the moment. The fleet would only be there for a short amount of time before carrying out its new orders from Emperor Fearsons. He sat back and relaxed while the fleet moved into formation.

One week later…

 Kamon strolled through the woods of the planet Rineeki. Forests were Kamon’s favorite places to visit. He could almost always be found in one. He walked up to the mound where he had buried his sister. A tombstone was there to mark the spot. Kamon had picked some flowers already; he placed them on the mound.

 He headed back down the path toward the capital city. Radon approached him from that direction. Kamon nodded to him as Radon fell in by his side.

“Feeling better, Kamon?”

“Yes. It’s still hard to bear, though. I am now the last remaining Vondiranach. I must find a wife, Radon. I have to produce an Heir to the Throne. Someone has to take over for me when I die.”

“Ah, but that’s a long way off, Kamon. You and I both know that it is going to be a long time before you die. Besides, there has to be someone out there for you.”

“True, but I have tried so many times, and have failed all of them. I just do not know, Radon.”

“Well, it will come soon.”

“I hope so. How are the ships coming along?”

“All repairs have been made, and all ships are operating at maximum power.”

‘That is good. We need to move soon. Emperor Fearsons is pressing us to begin. What about repairs to the cities? Are they going well?”

“Very well. There are only a few minor repairs that need to be done in the capital. All of the other cities have completed repairs.”

“That is good. If you will excuse me, Radon. I am due to address the people.”

“Yes, sir.”

 Radon headed off toward the new military base where he was staying for the moment. Kamon turned down a side street and approached the square. A podium had been set up there for him to give his speech. He approached the platform, and jumped up on to it. He walked over to the podium and cleared his throat.

“Citizens of Rineeki. My name is Prince Kamon Vondiranach. I am the ruler of Tholatin, and the leader of the Tholatin Republic. We have come to liberate you from the injustice of the Pirates who ruled you before. Pirates have a way of using people for their own good. The Tholatin Republic is just that, a Republic. Everything is done through voting. Everyone has a say in matters.”

“I believe in leading a just faction. I have seen the horrors that pirates carry out. They killed my sister after all. That upset me very much. But I have seen other things, most of which are worse than killing. I have seen pirates use species such as the Ryn for experimentation. They inject drugs into them in the hopes of creating a species of Ryn that is developed for fighting. And this is not limited to the Ryn. They will experiment on any and all species. I am here to end that.”

“I come before you now, asking you if you will accept my offer of joining the Tholatin Republic. If you agree, you will enjoy freedoms you did not have under the pirate’s rule. If you will join, please raise your hand.”

 Hands sprang up almost immediately and a cheer rose with it. This planet obviously hated being ruled by pirates.  As well they should, considering what pirates can and will do. He raised his hands in the air to signal for everyone to settle down.

“I expected you would accept. We will immediately commence with the building of two shipyards and one construction yard. We will make it so that pirates will never again be able to harm your planet. I thank you for accepting my offer.”

 He stepped down from the platform, and entered a landspeeder. The vessel shot him away from the square in the direction of the military base. It stopped at the main door, and Kamon leaped out. He walked up and entered the building. Stepping into the communications room, he stepped up to the speaker.

“Tholatin Republic troops. This is your Prince. The planet has agreed to join us in our quest to rid the galaxy of all evil. I applaud you for a job well done. We have succeeded in a part of our plan. You all have one day off before we move on. I suggest you use it well.”

 Kamon left the room, and headed for his chambers. Entering a turbolift, he shot up to the top floor where he entered his room. Flopping down on the bed he fell into a deep and uneasy sleep.

 He woke up some time later, and headed for the galley. There he ate a meal, and headed for the docking bay. He entered a shuttle, and told the pilot to take him up to the Starfire. The pilots completed the preflight checklist, and the ship rose from the ground. Exiting the bay, it unfolded its wings and headed for space.

 The planet fell away beneath him and Kamon was sorry to have to leave it so soon. There were so many wonderful forests on the planet. He had only been able to visit a few of them. The shuttle received clearance from the Starfire, and entered its hanger bay.

 He left the ship and headed for the bridge. He sat down his chair and called Radon on his comlink. The Grand Admirals voice responded after a few seconds.

“Is everything ready, Admiral?”

“Yes, sir. All ships are ready for battle, and have a fighter screen in front of them. We are ready to commence the strike.”

“Very good. On my mark, I want all ships to jump to their designated areas.”

“Yes, sir.”

 Kamon waited a few moments for Radon to relay the order to General Skai.

“Whisper, go.”

 Task Force Whisper jumped into hyperspace, and was on its way to its prep area.

“Firebird, go.”

 Task Force Firebird jumped into hyperspace.

“Spear, go.”

 The stars outside of the Starfire elongated and the Task Force jumped. It was time for phase two of the Tholatin Republics plans.
