" Activate Abolisher fields. Raise all shields. Deploy fighters: pattern Tango XVIII," came the order, deploying sixty percent of the Imperial fighters into the battle zone.

The bridge of the mighty Allegiance-class Command Star Destroyer <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Intimidator<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> was in a frenzy. But it was an organized frenzy, an Imperially-organized frenzy. Officers of gunnery were relaying targets to the plat table at the entrance to the control corridor. Helmsman were plotting courses and easive patterns to match, Fleet liaison officers were relaying range data and ship designations.

All was going as it shold in the beginning of a battle. Intense, but orderly.

Rear Admiral Desaira, recently promoted and decorated for the Freughte campaign, sat in chair of command between the crew pits and watched the enemy formations arrive. Three task forces had formed, but there would be no more to follow now.

" It would be comforting to have the 2nd Legion here, Admiral," quipped Captain Vorran, <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Intimidator's<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> CO.

" Aye, it would. But then we would crush even more so then now and the Fleet would get no gunnery practice...they would turn and flee!"

The Captain and his Admrial shared a brief laugh at their enemy's expense.

" Commander Valt: All ships are to launch gunboats and blastboats. They will then form up into six-ship squads and await my orders. Deployed fighters form into wings and assigned defense sectors. Remaining wings, prepare to engage the enemy."

" All ships: load projectile weapons and commence firing at long range when the enemy comes to said distance. Enfilade for ten seconds, and cease."

Commander Valt, chief liaison officer, nodded and sent the orders to the other warships: primarily the Victory-class Star Destroyers, who were each outfitted with one hundred missle launchers and long range targetting arrays.

Captain Valt turned his head from the data pad he carried. " Sir, orbit has been broken and all ships are formed up in formation, abreast. Abolishers report activiated, and IP frigats have covered all other areas of the system."

A grin stretched across the face of the newly-made Rear Admiral as he steepled his fingers. The enemy ships, having prudently dropped from hyperspace at the edge of the system, were still small specs in the viewpanes.

How intriguing war really was! One moment the New Order proclaims its utmost loyalty to a Rogue Imperial-Imperial Alliance, and then the next second, when the Naboo Sith Order offers its assets, they use those in an infernal attempt to end the Rogue Empire due to their unending jealousy of a better way of life.

But it was no matter. Emperor Fearsons predicted the Empire's counter attack at Tholatin, but he did not expect they would attempt to use cannon fodder, how intriguing.

Thus Admiral Eldiyick awaited with his forces for the enemy to droop from hyperspace.

OOC-I ask you to remember basic military logic: an Abolsiher, or any Interdictor-class cruiser, while being able to defend itself, is not a primary warship. Therefore, it would not be on the frefront of the battle lines rather protected by the Star Destroyers and other battle cruisers of the formation. (If you like I will tell you exactly what the locaton of my fleet is, and its deployed formation diagram.

This shall pass, however. I will say that one was a stray from the Planetary Defense Force.



IC/ The Abolisher-class Cruiser Promaraa, deployed from the planetary defense fleet, had been foolishly allowed to remain ahead of the lines. And it and its crew had paid the ultimate price for disobeying standard Imperial battle doctrine: and commo sense. She was adrift, her weapons barel functioning and her crew vainly trying to the each her sister ships.

" Admiral, enemy ships are slowing. They are trying to remain out of range of our long-range planetary weaponry."

Desaria chuckled, and dida moment of math. The Brass Protectorate Fleet was beyond orbital positions, to stay clear of the fleeing civilian traffic. The Imperial weaponry ontheplanet had a range of .4 The Imperial flotilla was .3 from the planetand had a .2 range.

" Captain Vorran. The enemy has indeed avoided our Fondorian defenses. But they have not our offense. Commence firing long range torpedoes: all Victory-class Destroyers and Attack-class Carrier spheres. "

The <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Intimidator<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->'s commander nodded and began to relay orders, when the Admiral spoke again. " Deploy Bombr Wing XVI. Have them flank our fire. And unleash the preset when our second wing begins its runs."

" As ordered, Admiral."

With the coming of the Admiral's orders, the long-range projectile batteries of the Imperial flotilla opened fire. A hail of missiles and torpedoes thundered of towards the Tholatins.

Almost 90 percent of them exploded off the bows of the leading enemy vessels.

" Damn! Some one remind me to shoot my guidance officer when this engagement is concluded. Load again and add second stge boosters. Get the range right this time!"

The entire tactical and gunnery crew of the bridge nervously swallowed, and tried to please their commander.

A second barrage of projectiles headed off towards the eenmy ships. Every mouth on the command deck was incanting prayers or gawking in anxiety. Five hundered meters....

Four hundred....

Three...

Two.....

One....

The mixed array of ranged weapons hit the leading Tholtin ships, rocking them violently and no doubt sending crew smashing from one bulkhead to the next. About half exploded prematurely around the enemy like flak shells, but enough hit to knock down their shield stengths and tear non-formed fighters ot bits.

Enemy fighters that had ravaged the Promoraa made evryattmpt to shoot down as many as possible, but not enough. A second salvo was incoming, as were the Imperial Scimitars.

The cheer on the flagship's bridge could not be heard by the Admiral as he immersed himself in the enacting of war. And the planning of victory.

" Captain, begin moving the Division forward, and bring up the flanks ahead of the command squadron. Keep all defensive ship behind us, in case of eiher flanking or an unexpected suprise."

The Admiral grinned at his own statement, for he remembred there would be no surpises save debris: his Abolsihers were on.

His low laugh coincided with the third launched salvo.
