Cata follows the lines of the original StarCraft, since the Cree'Ar are patterned on the Protoss, the Reavers on the Zerg, and the various other original races on the different tribes of the Terrans? Although one could argue that there are some Brood War elements thrown in there, since the Cree'Ar absorption of the Dragons would be similar to the Protoss absorption of the Dark Templars.
