Reavers are former Dracconis, a cultish offshoot Daemun first featured (I believe) in theOf Endings thread.
However, the Dracconis (along with everyone else) are fighting the Blood (alien race from a different universe/dimension/whatever) in Of Endings.
The Dracconis considered themselves 'better' than regular Daemun by creaing a mix of their synthetic husks with biological components augmented by a mutated version of their Phage/BioLogic virus.
In Cataclysm (where Reavers are first mentioned), Heir Raktus takes his people to the Dominion (promised land?) in another galaxy leaving the Dracconis who then go mad (since Heir was their end-all-be-all to existence...[that's actually depressing]) and become the Reavers.
They are kind of a mix of the Reavers of Serenity, Zombies of 28 Days Later (at least the 'flesh/biological' part. Their synthetic, artificial intelligence components may provide some sort of 'drive' or purpose to individual Reaver groups but I am just making this up as I go.

Okay, thanks for the synopsis. I am off to read Of Endings and Cataclysm, then...as soon as I fully recover from last night's post-final decompression.

I'd like to note the lack of a link to a 500 word RP concerning that R&D that Heir posted about. The post is enclosed at the bottom of this "letter". I call blatant cheating! The Reavers must therefore be dismissed and ignored due to rule breaking.
