I heard it had a pretty solid release, and most reviews I've read are glowing.

But then again, you're from Australia, Vance. And that place tends to twist technology. :P

Milkshake: Depends on your computer specs. Primarily your RAM. And I don't know anything about the $30 deal. Cost me $119.

I haven't noticed any bugs. Then again I'm just a casual user, I'm not running it through the circuits.

All the reviews I saw were very positive and I'm enjoying it so far.

There's a deal going on until January where Canadian university or college students can upgrade to any version of Windows 7 for $39.99. That's what I'll be going over Christmas :)

I bought my computer two years ago but it's still good, it has 4 gb ram, so I'll probably be getting Home Premium 64 bit I guess...

Yup. All the versions come with both the 32 and 64 bit discs so you can install either one.
