If you expect to roleplay with someone or anyone, you should put a shout out in the OOC forum saying you want to rp with some Imperials or Rebels or Contegorians...wait! Contegorians? What the heck is a Contegorian?

See? We have some factions here at TRF that are not mainstream Star Wars and how would they affect a smuggler in this environment?


Are they the backstabbing, craven, bloodsucking leeches that the Empire paints them as?

Are they the shining torch holder (one of many) to the Old Republic as they may paint themselves as?

Or are they reptilian, alien cannibals?



Is Dacian Palestar the next true horror upon the galaxy or his he one in a million Sith wannabees?

Does Doan Silk have an identity crisis or does he just repress his love for his fallen Sith Master Maim? (Not that there is anything wrong with that)



You will note that there are many single writer roleplays because they are either character development or empire building threads (if you see a planet name in the title, it's usually an empire building thread). However, if you like a story or want to take part in one, simply send a shout out to the author through a PM or a thread in the OOC forum.


What not to do is simply start a roleplay and just sit there and wait for someone to jump in. The membership here comes and goes and we have alot going on in real life so most may tend to keep an eye on their own threads and may not realize there is a new one or read the new thread immediately.

You need to slap us up and say "Here I am!"

Don't feel bad if you don't the inside jokes at first as most of the members here have been around for many years. So if we seem a little elitist to you, it's because we are. However, we welcome all into the club.


Our roleplays tend to be a little more "serious" and perhaps adult in nature in some respects rather than your typical mickey mouse "Search for the Golden Lightsaber" threads you might see on other sites. But we also have not so serious whimsical roleplays as well.

On an OOC/Cafe note: Please know that we do not mind sarcasm, we do not mind ribbing or even the occassional arguement over religion, politics or how many guns are on a star destroyer Mk. MCCXLV. A common sense rule here is, however, if you can dish it out, you must be able to take it. We have baiters, we have bedroom Professors, college know-it-alls, the occassional teenage know-it-alls and we have those that occassionally come in and slap a dose of reality on us (Morgan) to make the world glad decisions of import are not made by those who write on a Star Wars roleplaying site.

As Corise/Bandor said, welcome to TRF. Contrary to what he said, don't join the Inferno group. They're a bunch of scum-sucking terrorists who have nothing better to do than attack and annoy the real power in the galaxy. Forget the upstart leeches that are the miniscule and irrelevant Contegorian Confederation. Forget the fallen and decrepit Galactic Coalition. Forget the greedy Commonwealth. Come join the Empire, and achieve new heights that you have only seen in your dreams!

Seriously, though, TRF is pretty awesome. Great community, some really great writers (Dolash, Beff, Simon, my hat came off to you when I got here and is still off), and a whole bunch of fun. At least, when you don't have four law school exams breathing down your throat, like I do. And when you don't have writer's block.

I hope you do integrate well into the community here. Actually, if you did want some work (and could wait about two weeks), I'm pretty sure my Sith character, Skygge, could use you in some capacity. I'll think of something - if you like the idea, shoot me a PM - I'll be happy to talk with you about a thread. If you don't like the idea of working with a Sith, my Rebellion character, Jaeriel, could definitely use you.

And, by the way, there's a lot to be said for keeping your options open for a while, too. Don't necessarily cast your lot in with any one faction at the beginning. Look around, RP with different groups, and see where you best fit. The most important thing, in my humblest opinion, is to figure out who you like working with the best. Is it the Imperial characters? The Sith? The Contegorians? Palestar/Dolash? Whoever it is, their group is the group you should probably join, because you'll most likely have significant RP time with them. And I mean the players themselves, not just the characters or the ideals.

Mind if I ask how you discovered The Rebel Faction? We don't get many newcomers and I don't believe we've been big on promotion as of late, so I'm just curious how it is people stumble upon us. Perhaps we can capitalize on that to bring in more members.

Wookiepedia is cool. And unlike wikipedia, you can trust most everything in there to be correct... because it's all fictional anywho!
