It's very microsoft - and in that I mean that a bunch of ad-executives, none of whom actually spend any time gaming, thought it looked pretty and would sell more copies thus raising their profit share.
It has some, a very small portion of, worthwhile "upgrades" although, even these, in my opinion are only really parallels of what was already there instead of making real advances.
And I have to agree, the "me" Wii copycat is super gay. I always liked the little, simple avatar images - not these over-crowded, over-personalized monstrosities. You like cats, robots and guns, I get it... but I don't need to be reminded of that every single time I bring you up on my friends list. I am never, I promise, going to say, "Oh, who was that guy I played Gears II with... the one who liked guns, cats and robots?" And then realize, "Oh, I can just examine every single cluttered avatar in my f-list looking for the guy who fits the bill."
One thing I think is/will be pretty neat; the gameshows which you will be able to participate in with other gamers, your friends included.
