On September 16th Colin McRae and his son passed in a helicopter accident. The world has lost one of its foremost sons of Rally Sport. An accomplished driver, son of the sport and born in to it, he drove notably for Subaru and others. His titles are many - I believe he held something like 25 WRC championships. He was the inspiration for a video-game series of the same genre and named in his honor. An article can be found here.

A Very Questionable Potato
I think he had won 25 WRC events. He was the 1995 Champion. Colin primarily campaigned for Subaru and Ford but has had stints with Citroen briefly.
McRae was famous for crashing cars to the point of dysfunction but driving them away into the next stage and posting competitive times anyway.
