The Dameo system, from afar it could appear as a beautiful portrait of eternal motion. The swirling of shinning silvers and greys cresting across a backdrop of black, centered by a large black and red sphere in the center. Unlike most systems in this galaxy, the Dameun system didn't emit waves of signals, from the radio waves of a low tech society to the holonet transmissions of galactic standard level. No, on approach Dameo was a clean system, almost to the point one might think it devoid of life.
Does the absence of life truly equal lifelessness?
The Ebb and flow of assembler clouds, the misty vortex of multiple wormholes all in perfect symmetry with the systems only two worlds. An oddity in the face of creation, the Dameo system had but two worlds, tidal locked into mirror orbits of one another on opposite sides of the sun.
It was not a natural occurrence.
The system had missing mass. The system had alot of missing mass. The sun was average, if not of small, size. The planets were not wholly remarkable in their density nor their circumference. The clouds that traveled the system were not natural, but even if their mass was added in, it still would not equal the missing pieces.

The Daemun People, a race of beings perfect in form, solid in their knowledge of the universe and strong in their religious beliefs as to have achieved practical immortality, and yet never before in the history of the Dameun race had such a monumental feat of construction and shaping the dynamics of an entire solar system ever been attempted. No single act in the scale of Dameun events could ever compare to what the Disciples of God had done.
It had begun long ago, with a project named Jericho, the name invokes a sense of strength and security like none before it, even as it sat as a proposal across multiple governments in the galaxy the name alone stood as a promise of good things to its bearers. The Intent: Construct a system by which to protect a solar system from all threats whatsoever.
The original Jericho was large, cumbersome, inefficient and lacked the desired ability to do what its intent set out to do. Worse yet, it combined the mechanisms of other infidel governments with those of the holiest technologies. No, a new system had to be built, designed and researched.
Something new.
Something unseen in all of Daemun history.

If one approached the Dameo system they would be in awe of its beauty, its pleasing symmetry and wondrous sights. If one approached Dameo they would notice the oddities and the marvels. If one approached the Dameo system, they would see a sun on life support. It burned a bright crimson, laced through with lines of black, Oculus Taj sat dead center of the system. Its energies contained, for the closer one got to it, the more evident that the blackness was artificial. A criss crossing network of energy absorbing latice, thick lines tracing one way with thinner lines spreading out between them, with still thinner lines between those.

The power requirements for such an technologically advanced and dependant society as the Daemun people were astronomical, so much so that this indeed has become a pressing matter in some respects of a civilization. While Zero Point Energy is a most practical and highly efficient form of energy generation in a small scale operation such as that of shipping and most large scale space based operations, it pales in comparison to the needs of an Entire planet based on the same mechanics and technologies.
While it is true, a world could be run on those energy mechanisms alone, the required amount of space needed as well as materials to fuel the system would make it substandard and inefficient for wide scale planetary operations. And it was such that the Daemun study of Stellar Engineering began.
The first steps in this endeavor were the careful measurements of the Daemun sun, to determine its current age, and exact specifications in order to further determine its peak optimal condition for later revival. Specially formed Assembler clouds, augmented with sensor transmitting and retrieval information packets were sent in various waves in differential orbits around the sun at separate distances to measure all quantifiable data that could be known. Due to the age of the system, the long term gathered knowledge already gathered and finally the assistance of the Intelligence web have allowed this data to be analyzed, cross-referenced and tested to prove accuracy in a matter of years, instead of the decades it might have taken any other group of peoples in the Imperium.

It was not a completely dead star, merely regulated so that its energy would be used by the entire system, and that the processes that kept itself going were being artificially maintained in an effort to extend its already monumental life span. A nearly immortal race should never outlive its own home system, nor would it allow that system to die. It was a matter of pride, a matter of arrogance. A show of strength of power and will from the mighty Taj himself.
On a horizontal plane with the planets themselves, the star almost appeared to be rotating at high speeds. A large ring of black, overlaid by rising and falling redness that seemed to shoot out almost as solar flares, before being pulled back into the darkened sea that was its surface.

With this data, the Daemun people have become fully aware of the rate in which their sun is using up its natural fuel sources (chiefly Hydrogen/Helium) while at the same time determining the waste produced naturally in this system. While these nuclear reactions occur primarily within the suns core, the natural dynamics seem to exclude the fuel source that remains within the suns atmosphere. This leaves a large portion of the stars fuel source to go unused. It was decided that in addition to the current power research project, that optimization of the home systems sun would also become of paramount importance.
In the end, a method was implemented in which to optimize the suns fuel usage, while increasing its overall life span, and thus the life span of the entire Dameun system. This method would involve the actual 'lifting' of material from the suns atmosphere, the unused fuel could be reused and recycled to be pumped back into the suns core to increase and continue the natural fusion cycle for a nearly immeasurable time to come. A series of particle accelerator stations would be developed around the suns equatorial axis, these accelerators would be physically separate from each other but would exchange two counter-directed beams of oppositely charged ions with their neighbor on either side, forming a complete circuit around the sun.
The use of this acceleration ring would be the capture and containment of stellar matter released by the next step in the project. This step would be known as the actual 'lifting' of the stellar materials in the atmosphere. In specified locations at the accelerator ring, specialized microwave/particle beams would heat the already outcroping portion of the suns atmosphere, increasing the rate of solar wind outflow producing a large and sustained eruption similar to a solar flare at the target locations. The resulting flare outflow would be collected using the ring current around the suns equator to generate a powerful toroidal manetic field with its dipoles over the suns rotational poles. This would deflect the suns solar wind into a pair of jets aligned along its rotational axis passing into the particle accelerator ring, bleeding off the suns excess mass of fuel for later release back into the core using the inverse of this method where necessary.

The Dameo system, a macro scale version of the Daemun body. Controlled, regulated, redesigned and quite nearly perfection in form and function. Completely alien to the galactic observer, the Dameo system would seem as a freakish mess as the Alderann system, but to those finely calibrated eyes, the limitless wealth of knowledge and the understanding of the ages...
