The battle had begun by the time that vonta reached the bridge. The fighters were all out and arrayed in standard formations. The enemy was in a desperate gamble to try and attack them. The Frigates are trying to scatter the fleet by rushing their center. They know that they can not win but they well cause alot of damage in the mean time though.

Knowing that the ships well try and use their fighters in the most desperate ploy of all fighter maneuvers a head to head assault she has them countered. Saber strike and the Assassin class corvettes fire interference for their own fighters. And take fire from a enemy frigates that follow the fighters. Allowing them to start the fight organized while the enemies were scrambled to avoid being shot. The fighters weave and bob among each other. The Saber strikes forces have the upper hand in being organized this way they can pick of the fighters more easily. A-wings prove faster then the head hunters taking them out with sheer speed. The X-wings the retaliatives of the Z-95 prove their superiority by being move maneuverable in battle. While Defenders dance in and out of all of the smaller battles in the dog fight. Taking out several fighters with Ion canons, scattering others with proton torps. And proving why it is one of the galaxies best fighters.
8 Schimters and 2 B-wings cut through the battle covered by the others ships. They unleash a volley of missiles that takes one of the Cornelian cruisers out of commission. Destroying the front half of the ship in a strife run. They come about to make a run on another one.
The Gunships cover the Schimters and the bombers that trail them on route to 3 of the Frigates. The 6 Yt-1300s take fire to distract the gunners from the gunships. Allowing them to approach with shield intact. At only a ship length from the frigates the Fighter squads unleash a deadly attack of hundreds of concussion missiles and proton torpedos. The attack cracked one of the ships in half.
That was more then sufficient the smaller ships never had a chance to get into close quarters with the heavy ships now the destroyers have the advantage. The skirmishes among the smaller ships allow a opening for the larger ships to do their work
