Ok, an update to the original topic.
Wilma pounded the crap out of Cancun and other Mexican towns with 145 mph winds for 20 hours before emerging into the Gulf of Mexico. It now has winds of 100 mph, a Category 2 storm, and is forecasted to hit our state within the next two days.
Also, Tropical Storm Alpha has formed in the Eastern Caribbean, and is about to hit the Dominican Republic. It may dissipate, but should prove to be a substantial rain event, maybe causing fatal mudslides, etc.
