Either than or they feed off the food and little slivers of drink from the forty or so glasses, cups, paper cups, and paper plates scattered around my computer. Jeez I'm a dirt freak.

They could also use the mice and rats as living hosts for their eggs. When they hatch, the babies eat the mice and rats from the inside out.
