A few months ago I got into a largish Evolution/VS/Creationism debate on another board, and the results of that has convinced me that anything beyond casual discussion of the topic should not be performed over the internet. I didn't mean to get this far, but I got carried away.
My first reason is, I don't know everything. It's impossible for me to know much beyond a bit about each area on these broad topics.
Secondly, I'm still ironing out my
childhood misinformation as well.
Thirdly, the internet makes it too easy for someone to do a google, and sound like an expert on most topics. In above-mentioned debate someone did this, and was only caught when he used grievously erroneous information. I prefer not to reference or fight over subjects of which I know little.
So call that a concession to your superior understanding if you want, but I'm not up to dedicating hours of my time a day researching and composing long replies for a purpose that is ultimately futile (read: no one really cares what the other says, and if you really do you're probably not going to be arguing over the topic via the internet).
Sam, I could believe you if you said those beetles originally came from one species. But I wouldn't believe you if the last image was of that of a fly or moth.
