I would have thought you would have figured out by now how this works, Janus...

The voice that surged through Janus mind was none other than good 'ol Rax.

Fear leads to the darkside, Janus. Giving into fear makes way for anger. Anger breeds way to hate. To give into hate, well Janus, that leads to the ultimate path of the darkside.. suffering.

The commanding darkness gripped itself so tightly on and around Janus to the point that if he could not come to grips with the compelling darkness it would make him reach the point of sickness; a feeling that many produced when in relapse.

The amulet... you must pay a heavy price if you wish to attain such a powerful amulet such as this one. The choice is yours.

Janus was having difficulty breathing, though he knew it was in his mind, it was so real! But Janus refused to give into fear, he had delt with that before, and discovered that the only way a Sith could ever reach their full power was not through anger agression and fear, but through no emotions at all. If they gave into emotions, then they would be nothing less than a darker form of the Jedi.

"What sort of sacrifice, Rax?"

Janus realized he didn't have to speak aloud, but figured it would give the appearance of fear and ignorance if he did.

You already know...

Maybe it was not so clear for Janus just yet, but he would know and he would be made to understand, when the time was right for him. Janus would have to find the answer to his own question, something Rax was not permitted to provide to him.
