You also have to remember that prolonged exposure to the Dark Side begins having negative effects. In fact, the way you have Nihilius' bio, I would almost say he is almost completely fused out with the power he's carrying inside of him; I know he's been in statis, but that also means he wouldn't have developed any gifts or extra abilities - there has to be a balance with the character, mate, and it's this as far as I can tell:

1. He has developed these new abilities, but because he had to be exposed to Dark Side energies for so long for that to happen, he is phsyically dying and becoming weaker.

2. He hasn't developed any new abilities, because his body was in statis and that kept him in a state of suspended animation where nothing changed; which in turn means he wouldn't have been fried by the Dark Side energies...

Those are the two main options I see, depending. I don't believe one can remain unchanged in the physical, while his mental alters - not in complete statis, anyways.

He may be more presence than flesh, but he still has a physical form. And if he has been sitting pretty with the Dark Side raging inside of him for 5,000 years (or whatever) then that has to do something to him... Whether it be weakened attributes, insanity, you name it.

As for the makers of KOTOR 2... I think they may have gone a little overboard with the new ideas they obviously want to push out. I mean, they make the whole idea behing Nihilius quite frustrating to understand to begin with, and then they don't even fully explain his situation or what he is.

From what I gather, Nihilius sounds like he's passing into becoming a Force Spirit, from the quote you offered just before.

Sure they have a few lines here and there about him, but nothing explaining everything completely. Seems to me they've taken the easy route and just said: "Yeah, the dark side planet did it to him." Which leaves me wondering how exactly a planet can change a person in such a way simply through essence being passed on? Surely there's more to it than that.

I personally think you should keep the idea of Nihilius, but alter him enough to make him your own. In the sense of giving him limited abilities which aren't too powerful, which so far most of the ideas you have are... They are much to strong, quite honestly, at least for RP purposes.

Nihilius, clearly TRF is not a dictatorship when the majority of the people debating with you are regular members. In fact, I haven't really seen the staff take much of a side at all in this thread, except for a few friendly tips Kas offered you earlier.


TRF is indeed an RPing galaxy based on the Star Wars universe created by George Lucas. But that's all the more George Lucas and TRF have in common. TRF decides what it wants and what is best for itself. If the general consensus on something is that it is or is not canon, then that's that. End of story.


You are as free as one could ever be to explore every facet of the character Darth Nihilius. As long as you don't negatively affect the other members of the community in any way, you are fine. But they are right, from what I have read of your RPing you do need to tone down Nihilius' powers, his very voice causing pain to a Force user of higher rank like Dolash is just ridiculous. Right now, he's a Padawan. Give him Padawan skills. Or don't bother to play him because sooner or later you'll get yourself into big trouble. It's called godmoding, take a look at the Force user rules.


So I HIGHLY suggest you don't go there, Nihilius. It's in your own best interests to drop that line of argument now before you pay for it. If you need a better idea of what is not overpowered for a Sith Apprentice on TRF, talk to Perrin (Omnae) or myself or someone.... don't continue to argue that he is not to the rest of the board.
