A training thread is where a character is 'taken on' by a Master, and trained. It consists of a back-and-forth between the two. You can see an example here. I think your duel post works. If you keep that up until you get your character hammered down and fleshed out I think you'll have a good substitue for a training thread. Flashbacks are a good technique for this kind of situation.

to become a sith you have to have 60 posts before they even consider you. That's too long to wait! why can't i be self taught or within a group of people who teach other or something else? why can't there be more than 1 way to become a sith?

fair enough. but 60 posts is a long time to wait in order to get somewhere decent. if i convert to the light, will you be willing to train me earlier than 60 posts or will i have to wait anyway?
