In real life, there are not kilometres-long warships, either. However, in the Star Wars universe, there are. In the Star Wars universe, ships have been known to make crash landings with hull integrity severely in jepordy, going into atmosphere without exploding.
Missiles are shielded, and unless you can prove that concussion missiles explode going into atmosphere (highly unlikely, considering they are designed to be able to be used in atmosphere).
