Voltimas shrugged.

"Surely. I am Lord Voltimas of the Crimson Allegiance. I am taking you, wherever you wish to go. However, I will invite you to stay with me and join my quest. Obviously your previous choice of companions failed you, perhaps it is time to try another route."

Voltimas looked at his controls, currently his heading would take him to meet the Crimson Allegiance fleet. However, it could easily be altered, if need be.

With a scoff she sat back in the gunner's seat and propped her feet up against his head rest. "They were a means to an end - Voltimas was it? - nothing more. Got me where I wanted to be for that moment in time."

Arai reached inside her white leather jacket and retrieved a lighter and cigarra stick. Taking a drag after lighting it she flipped the lighter back into her jacket. " But yes, it would seem as though they've failed which leaves me rather bored."

" So this Quest of yours, something noble and good I'm assuming?" She shook her head. " Not my style. You can drop me off at the next planet with a decent size space port. I'll make my own way from there."

"Noble and good? Depends who you ask. Most would call me a terrorist and murderer. However, as I said before.. the choice is completely yours. I believe the next planet with a decent spaceport we will pass is Jutraal. Shall I drop you there?"

Voltimas stayed faced ahead, though a smirk shown on his face.

Mon Calamari

The arrowhead shape of a single Star Destroyer reverted to realspace above the world of Mon Calamari only minutes after the retreat of the Chiss fleets. Painted a deep blue, with a golden stripe running down each side slanted towards the bow and bearing the signature codes of the Union of Free Worlds Home Defence Corps, the Victory Star Destroyer Narasil.

Strung out behind the craft were half a dozen bacta tankers, each donated by the Union's new allies on Thyferra, home of the infamous Bacta Cartel.

On the bridge of the Star Destroyer, Trayden Locke looked out across the battlefield. The wreckage of the Spirit of Csilla, as well as that of a dozen or more fightercraft destroyed by the explosion, littered one small area. In another, Mon Calamari rescue craft were securing the planet to make sure none of the mysterious genocidal superweapons had been unleashed before the Star Destroyer blew up.

And another was sweeping the wreckage itself, looking for the evidence of that weapon, and having, it seemed, little success. No doubt a cache of explosives had been placed near them in case of such a disaster.

Immediatly upon the entry into the system, the com boards had lit up with warnings and contacts. Surely, the planetary authorities must be saying, these were not another enemy! Not now.

Only now, once he had gotten a sense of this place, did he open the com and, on an open channel, speak.
"I am Trayden Locke, of the Union of Free Worlds and of LFX Industrial. I am here with a special delivery for the Mon Calamari, curtousy of the Union, LFX Industrial, and the Bacta Cartel."

And with that, the Bacta haulers began to descend, welcomed with open arms by the Mon Calamari defenders.
"I think," Trayden said, closing the com, "that we may yet have a friend in these sectors."

The vessel's captain nodded.
"We may yet, Polemarch. We may yet."

Kamon heard the message. He asked for access to the comm and it was granted.

"Congratulations, Chadd. A new ship in your arsenal. May I ask how you stopped the self-destruct?"

They fought on, the self-destruct averted, and Gash's lightsaber arched down, severing the blue-skinned humanoid's hand and dropping him to the ground in agony. His comrade was not so lucky, and while he too dropped to the ground, he was never again to rise; one of the droids' blaster bolts took him squarely in the head, nearly severing it.

Gash held up one lightsaber in a preordained sign for "stop", as he looked around. He is... escaping, Gash thought, feeling the words of Meschi flow into him as well. Quickly, his mind adapted to the new set of circumstances, pieces falling into place rapidly.

"The ship has been taken, and our friend is escaping," Gash said, signalling to D31. "Find a control panel, and try to seal the life pods. Take the squad. Try not to kill too many of the Chiss; this vessel has already been taken by Fearsons."

"Yeah," The droid replied, in its own modification of a military affirmative. The ten droids clicked off down the Star Destroyer's hallway.

"There are a thousand lifepods on this tin can," Kasien said, moving closer to Gash with a bewildered look on his face. "If he wants to escape, he could've been out of here three hundred times by now."

"I know." Gash said, shrugging. "But it is worth a try. Even the threat of destruction like that Xilen held over the heads of the Mon Calamari is in violation of old NR warcrimes law."

"You're still judging people by NR laws?"

"Do you have any better ones you'd like to show me?"

Kasien shook his head. "Where are we going, then?"

"The bridge," Gash said. Kasien immediately began to put his blaster away, holdstering it.

"What are you doing?" Gash asked him.

"The ship is Fearsons', right? I won't need it."

Gash chuckled. "Don't be so sure, on either account."
* * * *

Minutes later, the two human components of the Rogue Jedi Order boarding squad entered the bridge where Chadd Fearsons stood, now fully in command of the vessel. His PeFauna guard -- armor blistered by blaster bolts -- stood about the bridge, and they came to alert the second Gash entered the room; that much was obvious, both through the Force, and visibly.

Fearsons himself also turned to face Gash, notably less than ecstatic to see his old master. "Really, Chadd. You let him go. And you did it before I even got to him. I would've expected more of you."

Chadd said nothing for a moment, and Gash continued, "I doubt we have fully seen the last of the Sovereign Chiss Empire, or its esteemed leader -- given his predisposition for disappearing, and resurfacing under new disguises."

" Jutrall, hmm?" Arai looked out at the streaks of light that were the stars as they flew through space. " Maybe later. I'd like to hear more about this terrorism and murder business."

She leaned forward again, bringing her head around the seat to look at him, and flashed him a wolfish grin. " The name's Arai, but something tell's me you already knew that."
