I do watch anime, but I am very picky about what I watch. Currently I'm working through Samurai 7. I also got all of Wolfs Rain on DVD and a few other's I can't remember off the top of my head.

FLCL. It's like the animators and writers are on acid.
Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne, Evangelion, Blue Sub 6, and a few others I'm not remembering are also some of my favorites. And let's not forget Ghost in the Shell; although if you haven't read the GiTS manga, I highly recommend that you do. It is simply fantastic, along with its' sequal ManMachine Interface.

I have the first 3 episodes of the Hellsing OVA series, and I can say that, yes, it is directly based off of the Manga, unlike the 13-episode Hellsing series already out there, and yes, it kicks even more ass then the 13-episode series...
...in fact, it is absolutley fucking awesome. Beginning the third episode now, (they are 50-min episodes apiece), and I feel my body transforming into a freak monster right now in response to this awesome piece of anime.
