(ooc: *Yawns and pokes Lup some more*)
She couldn’t fall back asleep, the name ‘Besk’ bouncing around in her head like a hyper child demanding attention. Looking at the clock she realized she still had another six hours before sunset. Mutter a few curses she sat up in the mattress and looked over at the computer the man pointed out to her ealier.
Might as well see what I can find out on him now… She thought as she moved over to the terminal and switched on the screen.
It was a bit frustrating to use: the keyboard was designed for human like hands, not Trandoshan and her large claws keep hitting the wrong keys. After a while she got better at it and was able to bring up some old news articles that featured Besk. Most of them told how he used to work with the Empire years back and apparently now works as a freelance mercenary: he had been successful in capturing quite a few marks for his employers.
His rep is similar to Boba Fett’s… She thought, then a puzzled look formed on her face.
Wait…who’s Boba Fett?
She shook her head, not letting herself get sidetracked. Old news articles were fine and dandy if you wanted to know a guys reputation…but she wanted to know about the person himself. Common sense told her that public records on Trandoshans would be based on Trandosha and not directly linked to other public databases, so it would take some work to find them.
After two hours, she finally got into the Trandoshan public database. However she didn’t find as much as she thought she would at first.
Born in Hsskhor…Former K’Satikur Clan member…so what? She thought, getting frustrated. After a little more searching she found more.
Sired three hatchlings…one son, now deceased. Two daughters, both disowned for dishonor reasons.
She sat back, staring at the screen. Disowned for what? If his son was dead and he disowned his other two children…that meant he had no ‘legal’ heir. More out of curiosity’s sake, she looked into the identity of his two daughters. The first one, named Kosi, had this snotty look on her face and she instantly took a disliking for her: her status was currently unknown.
Looks like a real b-tch… She thought as she looked into the second daughter.
Her eyes widened when the image came up: she had suddenly felt like she was looking into a mirror. Save for the coloration, this female looked
just like her. She didn’t know how long she just stared at that image before she forced her gaze to the information regarding this female.
Her status was missing, presumed dead. Name…the name slammed into her like a large puzzle piece suddenly snapping into place.
Asri…my name is Asri… She thought, holding her head as more pieces started to fall into place.
Besk is the one that took me to that…place…and he’s my….father…
She stood up and staggered against one of the tables.
Why would he…wait… She remembered the test she and Kosi, her sister took. She knew what kind of test it was, it was a fertility test, all females had to take it when they came of age: no sense in putting you in the breeding database if you were sterile…
Sterile… Her breaths came in heavy now. That would be why she would be ‘disowned’ by her father. But then she remembered the doctor’s comment:
’Your father already knows one of you failed…’ and the smug look on her sisters face.
She cut loose with a scream of rage and knocked the table over, glass breaking as the various tubes and beakers crashed to the floor…
