Also, if C3PO had a memory wipe, how come when Uncle Owen buys him in Episode 4, C3PO remembers that programming vaporators (somthing he did on Tatooine) was his first task as a droid?

Actually, I think his first task was doing something that was VERY closely related to water vaporators... not actually working with them.
Though i haven't seen ANH in Re' knows how long, and I can't be bothered to watch it again anyway. Least fav of thw SW movies.

It's probably just like wiping a computer. It erases all excess information but basic programing. If we can clean off a hard drive nowadays, I'm sure they've got a way of doing it in a similar fashion on droids the super high-tech SW galaxy. :b

I saw Episode II in my absence...it was pretty kewl. And I did notice Qui-Gon's voice in there...and of course, I have to list my favorite lines...
