Let's see Theren make fun of the chess club. Our total cost yearly is probably what the state pays the bus driver to occasionally take us to other schools. Our materials have already been there from past years...and you can even count the pizza party at the end (which our club leader/teacher buys on his own money).
Of course, many people don't consider it a sport, but hey, it's still fun.

You'd think so, wouldn't you, Theren?
But they're not.

Well, it's a norm in America to get high and drunk...not just the "jocks" or the "jockettes," but also the people not doing sports.
Thank God I'm not one of them.

Return of the King of the Cafe!
...Actually, I kinda think sports are usefull in school. Not as much, of course, but still some. They are a handy and relaxing pastime for those who enjoy them and will help keep you fit and healthy and give you an extra oppourtunity to socialise.
I'm not a real sports person myself, but I know quite afew people who look forward to the oppourtunity to play sports after school. A computer can usually be accessed with ease by anyone, at home or at the library, or wherever. But sport teams are a little harder to come by and it is nice of schools to provide such teams so that those who like sports get to play them.
Now I'm not denying that the sports aspect is overdone in schools these days, they are, but I also think that there should be some, so perhaps some pleasent medium is required?

I think it's just too funny how we are basically ignoring North Korea right now.
Kim: yoo-hoo, hey over here, I have a nuke!
Bush: So how is the Iraqi situation going on?
Kim: Hey, over here, I have nuke!
Bush: We need to do something more about Iraq.
Kim: Hey, dumbwad! I have nuke. I nuke U.S.
Bush: We need to get a constitiution for the Iraqi people.
Kim: I nuke US! I nuke US! I nuke US!
Bush: We need to step up the pressure agains the Saddam Loyalists.
Crazy Man.

It would be quite ironic if a Nuclear bomb landed in California.
Terrible... but ironic.
Terrible... but ironic.

Nah, not really terrible. Only terrible if Arnold Dies. The rest of those @#$% @#$% Politicians over there I hope they get nuked.

How did we get from jocks to nukes?

They are a handy and relaxing pastime for those who enjoy them and will help keep you fit and healthy and give you an extra oppourtunity to socialise. That is not what school is for. It is not there for you to make friends and socialize. If it was, you'd sit in the @#%$ cafeteria all day and chat with your buddies.
It's there so that you can learn, and sports are an impediment to that. They are a distraction and a money-drain. Whereas for every dollar you sink into buying a new computer for the school, the return is more educated students who will be more productive members of society, the return on the money spent on sports is sweet @#%$ all. The muscles all turn into fat, kids, and you stop playing football once you hit twenty-five and realize no one gives a @#%$ because you're working in @#%$ Radio Shack.

A computer can usually be accessed with ease by anyone, at home or at the library, or wherever.Using a computer to chat with your "BUDDDIEEEEZ" is different from computer education.
But sport teams are a little harder to come by and it is nice of schools to provide such teams so that those who like sports get to play them. Most Canadian (once again, I don't speak for America) municipalities publish a Parks and Recreation catalogue. This features all services offered by the government and local organizations, including teams for EVERY SPORT IMAGINABLE.
Now I'm not denying that the sports aspect is overdone in schools these days, they are, but I also think that there should be some, so perhaps some pleasent medium is required? No, no thank you. Sports are no good for anything or anyone, ever. Destroy.
