Beagles are nice dogs. I once knew a lady who raised and sold them. She was called a dog-breeder, oddly enough. Canines make good pets for the right type of person, while felines often make better pets for other people. It is a strange pehnomanon, that there should be a schism between Dog-People and Cat-People. I, for one, believe that both make great animal companions. Felines tend towards more independant and aloof, where-as dogs usually develop a more dependant relationship with their keepers.
