One of Jan would be pretty kick ass if you have free time at some point. My vision of him is old and male. These days he probably wears some sort of suit thing rather than any sort of military uniforms. More of a politician than a fighter. Other than that, you've got complete artistic freedom.

A shortcut to accessing your User CP is to click on the Private Messages link on the top right of the forum. From there you get taken into the CP area, and can simply select the Edit Avatar link from the left options.
Also, I made the image square so you can use them directly at 150x150 pixels without warping the face. If you require a resize or want a closer avatar of said face, I can do that upon request.
