The guard nudged her forward, with Raven tumbling forward a few steps.
"Don't do that again. I chose the pace we walk, not you." She told him, gritting her teeth.
Why did they always nudge or shove in one of the more painful sides of her body? Raven merely rolled her eyes in annoyance, and kept walking down the hall, with the guard murmuring directions this time, instead of shoving her when it was time to turn. It was an improvement, to say the least. The guard must have been well acustomed to working here, aiming to please, or dieing.
The two of them were almost there when a pair of guards were wrestling with another one of the prisoners. Raven smiled in amusement, since the young prisoner, a woman appearing to be close to her own age had been fighting them off with an odd sort of toy that seemed to fly from a string.
"You're not supposed to be here!" one of the guards told the girl, and Raven chuckled.
The toy flew out again, and the hard plastic was caught between Raven's fingers, an amused smirk on her face.
"Ah, crap!" the girl cursed, sighing as she rolled her dark eyes in resonation, yanking the string off her fingers, and tossing the string in Raven's direction.
Raven gazed at the toy, raising an eyebrow in puzzlement. The girl held two guards at bay with a simple child's toy. The guards were pulling the girl away, seeing that the girl was crying.
"Stop." Raven commanded, seeing the trio pause. The girl sniffled, wipping her nose on a sleeve.
"Let her go. I'll keep an eye on her myself." Raven continued. The guards reluctantly let the girl go, seeing the girl in question flash a smile, then stick out a tongue at the guards.
Raven nodded to her own guard, who then opened the door.
"You stay outside." she told the guard, gesturing with a hand that the girl enter first.
She heard the girl whistle as whirled around, taking note of everything in the room itself.
"I used to be as young as you." Raven murmured, fingering the toy in her hands.
The girl stoped whirling, and gave Raven a nod, not too sure what to do for fear of the one who spoke to her.
Raven took note of the interior of the room herself, noting it was rather simple in decor, and that it came with a shower, at the very least.
"Begging your pardon m'am for talking out of turn and being blunt, but you look like you've been run over by a herd of banthas." the girl told Raven, only to have Raven laugh.
It had been too long since she heard someone speak to her like that, and the concept of once again being treated that royalty intrigued Raven, whom had only chuckled again, as she glanced down at her ruined snowsuit.
"I suppose you're right, miss..." Raven paused, frowning.
"Maavis, Maa..vis Andrade." The girl replied, stammering.
Raven nodded, and sighed.
"I seem to be in a bit of a bind. I've been invited to dinner, and I don't have much time." Raven murmured, seeing the girl whirl into action.
"Oh, I get it! You want me to find something cleaner to wear? I think I know just the one! I've been told I have quite the eye for these sort of things." Maavis told her in a rush, giggling.
Raven nodded.
"Well, something simple, I think should do it. I've been through hell in the past few hours, and I don't want to press my luck, or his patience any further than necessary."
Maavis nodded, giving Raven a grin, once again caught in a fit of giggles.
Raven frowned and rose an eyebrow in puzzlement, wondering, out of all possibilities, if the girl was driven insane by the extent of her stay, or, if she had been that way to begin with. All Raven could do at this point, was sigh, and head towards the shower, thankfully glad that she had a chance to change, and to clean up. At least Maavis had a brief reprieve granted to her, and had a diversion to keep her busy for a bit.
Raven had emerged from the shower a few minutes later, thankful for the fact that, for the most part, that she had suffered mostly from nasty bruises, and not a part of her body was broken. The worst came from her shoulder, which still look pretty nasty, but had stopped bleeding.
She had herself wrapped in an oversized towel, raising an eyebrow once again as she noticed varying articles of clothing were strewn about the floor.
Maavis had turned, holding a garment in her arms, giggling upon site of Raven herself.
"Found it! It took me awhile, but I found it!" Maavis giggled again, handing her the garment.
Raven nodded, once again wondering about the girl's sanity.
"Most of the stuff's black, and I thought it didn't feel right. You looked to me as though you were on a edge of a slipperly slope, and just starting to slide down the slope itself." Maavis murmured, lowering her gaze.
Raven blinked and nodded once again, surprised, in the very least, at the girl's amazing insight.
"I think I should go now. Don't want to press my luck." Maavis concluded, bowing slightly as she started to head towards the door.
"Uhm, Maavis? I think you're missing something." Raven told her, seeing the girl tense up as she glanced back.
Raven only smirked, returning the girl's toy by tossing it to her.
Maavis managed a grin as she caught the toy, then rushed out of the room.
"Weird girl." Raven muttered, shaking her head.
It was only a few minutes later that Raven emerged from the room herself, with an amused grin upon her face. Maavis seemed to have picked a rather symbolic color for the simple gown, which was a dark violet, a color so dark, it bordered on black.
