Maybe it has a large fan base, but how many of the people watching the game were just watching it because it was the Super Bowl? I know everyone that was at my house wouldn't have watched it otherwise, same with the people at a friend's house. I don't think the people I know are the only people who did that, I think a lot of people just watch it because its the Super Bowl. Although these people are probably not the majority, I'll admit that, but they are still a large portion of the people who watched it.

At least they made it there in the first place. All Washington State, you only saw Seahawks colors and messages on those coffee shop menus.

I heard that Ben Afleck, who was staying in Seattle at the time, rented out a whole strip club in Canada mid-game.

I think that's mainly because Canada is a heck of a lot colder than the U.S., so there would be a lot more frozen ponds and thus a lot more better skaters.

I don't skate on a frozen pond. I tend to prefer an indoor skating rink. Although occassionally it is fun to go to an outdoor rink. And it depends what part of the United States and what part of Canada you are talking about. Yeah we are colder than Florida. But I live on a border city in Northern Ontario and it isn't any colder here than it is right across the border. And we don't get more snow. Just the people on the other side of the border are pansies and everytime we get say 2 inches of snow they like to close down every school in the city and start their university later than normal. Which is stupid because we always still have to go to school. And I'm not exaggerating, they got a snow day today and we didn't even get that much snow last night. And its pretty much a guarantee that at the first snow every year they will get a snow day.

But back to your statement, Southern Ontario (say Toronto) would actually be warmer than US cities farther north (say the one I already ranted against in this post). And most people don't skate a lot on outdoor rinks, they tend to like indoor rinks a lot more. And the US can build an indoor rink just as easily as Canada can.

So I think that it is because hockey really is better than football and it is part of the Canadian heritage and culture (as little as we have a heritage and a culture its still there a bit). And because Canada pwns the US at hockey.

I'm looking forward to another sweep of Gold at the Olympics. And US won't even place!

The US could place. The top teams heading into the Olympics are my gold medal favourite Canada, Sweeden, the Americans, and the Russians.

We will have to see whether Pavel Bure knows what to do from the other side of a press box. The Swedes, with Henrik the Inhuman Lunqvist, have a huge shot at upsetting, but with some of their firepower backing out due to injury they might not have the weapons to get it done. The Americans, especially if they get a chance with Esche hurt to put Ryan Miller on the roster as their starter, could go either way. The Fins are really hurt by Kiprusoff and Lehtonen backing out otherwise they'd have a shot. And Canada is Canada. Their only weak spot is depth at the net and injuries at the backend, and even then, are a heavy favourite to medal.
