Servant of the Union
As long as this doesn't suddenly morph into "We got attacked by two fleets... it must be a highly secretive organization that we've never heard of" Then we'll be fine.

I apologize that I came off a little bit heated. I understand that the GC has the capacity to support a large fleet. I was just annoyed that Marth described our forces as "a fuckload of ships" when there are less than 20 total capital vessels in both threads.

So my frusturation was directed toward Marth really.

So hopefully we can just get on with the threads in question.

Now wait one damn minute, I have a right to manuever my forces, Dolash. Quit playing this out like you're dealing with some cheapass or naive fleeter. I'm trying to be civil here but your post did too much. I have a damn right to be able to give my forces orders to actually FIGHT THE BATTLE, not just let you wipe it out with a snap of your bloody fingers. The point that it would be underground also means something. So, be fair and fix it, please.

Yeah, sorry, my fault

I was writing a lot of posts today, it kind of got a little "Wide brush" near the end.

Sorry! I'll fix it soon! But not now, sleeeeeepy.

Sorry.

Dreadnuaght class heavy cruiser manufactured by Rendili StarDrive prior to the Clone Wars, these Old Republic ships required a huge number of crewmembers (16,000+) to run. They were about 600 meters in length, with a roughly cylindrical shape. The basic idea behind the Dreadnaught was taken from an old Mandalorian design, and was updated to create a ship that could be deployed to maintain a planetary occupation. Six weapons blisters were arranged around its midsection, and it had a clamshell-shaped bow. They were rated to speeds of .4 past lightspeed, with a top speed of 14 MGLT. The basic Dreadnaught-class heavy cruiser was armed with 10 turbolaser batteries, 20 quad laser cannons, 10 laser cannons, one warhead launcher, 160 SBD shields, and a 80 RU hull. During the Clone Wars, the majority of Dreadnaughts found in the galaxy were in the service of Rendili's homeworld security fleet, protecting the planet from invasion. When the government of Rendili tried to side with the Separatists, the Old Republic dispatched a group of warships under the command of Jedi Masters Plo Koon and Saesee Tiin. Their mission, which ultimately ended successfully, was to ensure that the Dreadnaughts did not become part of the Separatist fleet

Taken directly from CUSWE... the bold is mine.

Dreadnaughts could hold huge numbers of people..... and remember hat Necrotroopers do not require all the amenitities, that normal people do, meaning that it is entirely plausible that the ship could hold substanitially more people than a traditional crew.

Just keep that in mind.

I think your probably thinking of an New Republic or Katana fleet dreadnought which only requires 2,000 crew to run because of their high automation.

Man 20 ships isn't a lot when you control 50+ planets. But as has been stated a number of times an ISD is still a very powerful ship in the TRF galaxy not the type of thing a random pirate group would have. Think of Cannon there was only one ship that was as big as an ISD the Errant Venture that wasn't controlled by a government. Know you have 3 ships that size or so at one planet. That would be a a huge force for a non-government. For a government it wouldn't be that much. For a pirate group that would be nearly unimaginable. But I'm not arguing you don't have them so whatever. I'm just saying for a non-government that is an extremely large force far more than you'd expect a pirate or something to weild.

To be fair, they've plenty of sources of finance (Including maybe BDE?), and get the crew from slavelike Necrotroopers.

The way that the Union is set up though, is that they have several large and several hundred smaller sham corporations collecting money for them through legitimate means. Take Belgardi Ltd and Agro Corporations, for example. That would provide more than enough of a means to have a deadly small private fleet.

Of course, they lose a few of these fleets and the bills will start piling up...

Unless they established their own secret foundaries and shipyards, or some such thing.
