Kamon stopped rather quickly.

"A presence. Sith. A familiar one."

He sniffed the air lightly like a dog would sniff for the scent of the animal it was tracking. There was no smell and he heard nothing. The sounds around him were only natural and he could pick up no sounds of crackling underbrush. All he could say was that there was a strong Sith presence nearby. One he now recognized.

"It's Zeta. I've felt and seen him before. It's definately him."

OOC: Mind if I bring Zerxes in, Kahn?

OOC: Who's Zerxes?

The Jedi Master didn't respond immidiately to Kamon's words, instead remaining silent, reaching out with the Force, trying to pin-point the Sith's position. However, all he could sense was the haze of Darkness that denoted Zeta's Force Signature; apparently, the Zabrak wasn't looking for a confrontation. . .not just yet, at least.

"I sense it as well, Kamon."

Zeta's silent message to Kahn unnerved the Jedi Master slightly; it was never a pleasant feeling to know someone had invaded the sanctity of one's mind. But then, he supposed that was his own fault, for not keeping his mental-guards up; being away for so long must have caused him to grow sloppy.

And I suppose you would guide me to the right places then, Zeta?

Because he could not pick up a close reading on the Sith, Kahn sent out the message into the general direction of where Zeta's presence seemed to be emanating from.

You can't look for something that chooses not to be found.

Zeta was vague within his words, but nonetheless, he knew Kahn understood.

You have questions.. I've got answers.

The Sith book of Spells Malice had given to him a few weeks ago was with him.

It would not be long before he was made to use it.

I will wait for you within the forest, void of grown trees.

The Zabrak was in no hurry; he'd wait on the Jedi for as long as Kahn made him wait.

He would eventually find Zeta in the middle of the forest; sitting upon the same log he had encountered the woman upon, the same woman who now chose not to be found.

The Jedi Master frowned, as he felt Zeta abruptly break contact in the Force. He could still sense a lingering presence of the Sith, perhaps enough to find him- but then, if he did go after the Zabrak, something told Kahn he would have to do it alone. After all, this was a matter between the two of them- no sense in getting Kamon and Arix involved in his own problems.

Kahn sighed, glancing at the town in front of them; he'd hoped that he could spend time reaquainting himself with his fellow Jedi, learning to live in the world he'd left behind for several months. However, it seemed as though once again, the Dark Side was calling for him- and he couldn't resist the urge to answer that call, however foolish it may have been.

"There's something I need to do."

He spoke quietly, noting the looks of surprise on his companion's features. After all, he was the one who knew Malice the best- but the Sith's intoxicated state led Kahn to believe that gaining any useful information was doubtful.

"You can go ahead, I'll catch up later- I don't think Malice is looking for a fight right now, but I believe the two of you are more than skilled enough to handle him if he is. Good luck."

Kahn couldn't help wondering if he was making the right choice then, as he turned back; he had an idea of the forest Zeta mentioned, and he knew where to find it. The walk would only take a few mind, though Kahn lightly laid his hand on the saber clipped to his belt, wondering if he wasn't walking right into a trap- but then, he had little choice in the matter. His absence for so long left him having to trust the word of a Sith, at least for the time being.

OOC: I can have Kahn catch up later, depending on what happens with Zeta.

OOC: He's Kamon's Sith brother.

Kamon looked at Kahn.

"Alright then."

Kamon knew that Kahn was going to go speak with Zeta. The Zabrak had information that Kahn wanted very much. If Kamon was in the same position he would do the same thing. But since he wasn't, and Kahn wanted him to go, then he would go on to find Malice.

It was not long before Kahn showed up to meet with Zeta, for some reason the Jedi's prompt arrival surprised him.

Zeta had given no word on how the meeting was to take place, yet the Jedi had come alone, just as Zeta had wanted him to.

He came to find Zeta sitting upon the edge of a log. The area Zeta was in was exactly how he had mentioned it to Kahn, void of grown trees. There was nothing but dirt and rock.

"You have two options. I can tell you a tale or I can provide you with the truth. The tale will be much easier to swallow, the truth on the other hand, will not be. Chose wisely.."

Kahn studied the Sith sitting in front of him for a few moments, before giving his answer.

"If I wanted lies, I would not have come here, Zeta. I want the truth."

Even as he spoke, Kahn couldn't help wondering if he'd made the right decision. It would be easier if he could just ignore the truth, if he could pretend everything was all right- but then, he knew he could never fool himself into believing that, not when he was constantly aware of the weakening of the bond he shared with Amalia, of the gaping Darkness clouding any attempts he might make to contact her, or even locate her Force signature. Having such a bond cut off left Kahn feeling more vulnerable, more alone, than he was willing to admit; after all, she'd always been the constant factor in his life, the pillar of strength he could always depend on to keep him from falling too far. Now, it was he who needed to find a way to help his Master see the Light she'd guided him to years ago.

The Zabrak met Kahn with silence as he looked to the man, wondering what significance the truth would bring to him.

Nonetheless, if the truth was what Kahn desired, the truth was what he would get.

He spoke again, finally.

"Very well, then I will give you the truth, listen very carefully.."

Zeta's offering did have its price, and Kahn would have to pay very close attention to Zeta's words if he had any hope of understanding and gaining the answers he was seeking.

"It is a known fact that darkness can be overcome, at least for those who choose to conquer it. Yet for those that sink deeply into the depths of darkness, their redemption does not come without a heavy price."

He paused, choosing his words carefully. He, for some reason, wanted this Jedi to gain the truth and find his hidden meanings, despite his own lack of disclosure toward the Jedi.

"There is much that will be altered. What will be altered may or may not be able to be unaltered, that will be left up to chance...

Her perspective will be altered, in ways no one expects. Do not expect to establish total purity, for it will not be found."

The Jedi now had his truth.

The Jedi Master stared at Zeta for a long moment, as the weight of the Sith's words began to sink in. Kahn knew full well how dangerous the Dark Side was, how once you'd given in to it, you would always feel its pull, no matter how long it had been.

Even if he did manage to bring Amalia back to the Light, there would be woulds that never healed, scars that no one could see. She wouldn't be the same Jedi, the same friend, he'd known before; the Dark Side took a toll on those it sought to consome, left a mark that would never quite disappear; this seemed to be the message Zeta was conveying, a truth Kahn knew himself, but had been afraid to realize that it could also be a truth for his Master.

He'd always viewed her with a respect, almost a sense of awe, somewhat akin to that between a child and their parent, as well as between a Padawan and Master. After losing his mother at a young age, Amalia had filled that role in a unique way, along with being a friend and Master. Now, that perfect image was marred- as much as Kahn had wanted to believe she was invincible, that illusion was now shattered.

But even as Kahn realized this, he could not forget Zeta's other words.

"So there's still a chance."

She wasn't too far gone, she wasn't lost forever- that alone gave Kahn a spark of hope, helped briefly assuage his fears of losing his Master. Though, there was precious little he could do, if Amalia did not want to return to the Light. He had to find her; had to show her he hadn't deserted her, that he wasn't giving up, just as she'd never given up on him. And he had to do it before it was too late, before the Darkness took to strong a hold, before all hope was lost. . .

"Do you know where she is?"

OOC: Not sure if I got the message correctly, if I didn't I'll edit.

"Not even I know that."

He directed a small nod of his head toward Kahn, wishing to speak more.

"No sense in looking for her, especially when she does not want to be found."

A faint look of amusement drew to the Zabrak's lips.

"It is one less Jedi here.."

Her absence brought about suffering, at least Zeta could tell as much by looking at Kahn. Who really knew how many more Jedi suffered in her absence.

Slowly Zeta stood, his gaze never leaving Kahn's.

"I should be on my way now..."

He felt no need to attack this Jedi, not when there was already suffering to be had by this man.
