Imperial Baron-Admiral
I am more honourable than thou!
The answer is no Dolash - the battle is over and your men are casualties of war. Their ending is not assumed and will be mentioned - but their fate is inevitable. Your men are running out of their oxygen and would have to breathe via the ship's atmosphere. However given the fact that they are pinned in place via grav traps, my men are picking them off and using concussion charges - your part in the rp is over. You are more than welcome to try and find them but you cannot.

Period.

And no your agent cannot get aboard because he is not an Imperial officer and does not have access to Imperia;l ships - he is not even in orbit!!! And yes, Corellia is an obvious choice but your men could not within light years of it - as you said yourself it is a fortress world. Again - ships are arriving all the time. Given the vastness of the Empire and the array of warships at its disposal, no one would be able to pick it apart at a glance from the hundred other battleships nearby.

I resent your assumptions about my ability to come up with creative solutions, not to mention your usurping of control of my men. Even if - which I still contest - it is a hopeless situation for them, they would still be mine to roleplay, not yours, which might mean vicious charges or last stands. Your defences may well have been ruined by Projector hits, holes from the Torpedoes, or worse. The Astrus is still experimental in that it's first full test was a live combat one, for all we know it might have minor technical flaws that help. I could very well come up with some brilliant idea that gets my agent aboard your ship. To just 'assume' is most unfair indeed. It is not your place to tell me what happens to my men when they are still capable of acting.

After all, Corellia might be a fortress world, but you said yourself that ships are arriving all the time. Whos to say the quick-witted and the fleet of foot couldn't infiltrate the murky swamp of military buraucracy that surrounds the place? Quit making these assumptions! Allow me to write, and I will try my darndest to come up with a way to infiltrate your ship. I may succeed or fail at this infiltration, I might not even make it to the ship, but that is for me to try. Not for youto assume.

*EDIT*:Remember way back when we didn't have these arguments? All of two weeks ago? Those were the days.:p

Sound advice.

Oh come on, it's completely against the point of the Coalition to just 'let it go', we're supposed to be about not letting it go, about fighting the Empire to the last, about making every effort, about not giving up like everyone else does when faced with the Empire. The Empire has sacked countless planets, slaughtered countless armies, they've committed more then enough evil deeds to clearly define their ideology and character through their actions. The Coalition hasn't, though. We've talked big and planned big but what has it amounted to? If I don't go after these men with every option available to me (And I have options, enough of this defeatist 'oh, it is now officially hopeless' stuff) then what's the point of proffessing to be some great paragon of virtue if we never follow through when it matters? I had to do that with Kiyar, and it really depresses me and makes me feel lousy to think about that - Ahnk said to hold off on my counter-offensive until after he'd done some story thing, which he didn't do, so the Coalition did nothing and now I feel foolish, waiting for the cue to attack that never came.

So that means I will not simply let it go or give up on it, Regrad can, would, and will take every action he can with regards to the situation, and I will not be dissuaded. If the manner in which I try to accomplish this is in question, then question away, and we shall debate, but I will not give up because people disagree with the principle of why I am choosing to continue this issue.

I'm not sure if I can see what Regrad could reasonably do in such a short time, especially since the closest force, at Tynna, is currently dealing with their wounded and stuff, having to arrange a counter-attack from there might not be too feasible.

However I also feel that it is reasonable for Dolash to at least RP out Major Maxly and there others while onboard the ship, either fighting to the death, committing suicide or being captured, however he feels that would be RPed out. Plus if Telan doesn't want to RP the defence for some reason (too busy, wants to take a break, doesn't feel like fleeting for the moment, whatever) than I'm sure Dolash would be more than willing to let someone else RP out the defence of the ship.

For example: ME! I mean what could possibly go wrong, one of the founders of the Coalition fighting as the Empire against the Coalition?

Realistically, Dolash, there is little you can do. Even if you do find out where the captured soldiers end up, how do you propse to save them? I guarantee they would be held somewhere that is very heavily defended - II is based on Yaga Minor, COMPNOR on Mechis III, etc. Even if you found the location of the captured, the only real way to free them would be to launch an attack on the planet and go after them.

If they're being held on Yaga Minor (for example), you wouldn't even be able to reach the surface without a Corellia-scale war fleet. Hardly a worthy expense for the lives of 200 men.

Not to mention that the attack would probably trigger a full-scale war against the Empire.

I think your desire to keep with your soldiers is admirable, but realistically any commander would have written them off as casualties of war. And like it or not, in a battle where are casualties.

OOC, I think this argument stinks of you wanting more, more, more. Telan retreated, you won the day - I think he deserves something.

Thank you - I considered it a fair trade. He won the battle and the Empire got a consilation prize - a handful of prisoners to extract information from.

*Rolls eyes* Yes, that is exactly it - damn my greasy, greedy hide for roleplaying instead of thinking of this as a tactical game. How dare I always want more - and oh so conveniently made a character who would condone this kind of action? Shame on me. You do not 'trade' for victory. I was offered no consolation prize after the battle of Corellia - in fact, I got to enjoy the privilege of having a pound of flesh taken from the Coalition in negotiations. The argument that we should get a 'fair trade' had little traction there, because it was in the character of the Empire to take harsh demands from it's foes. The argument, therefore, that you should get a 'fair trade' in the form of me just giving up on my men (Which is not in the Coalition's style to do, no matter what you might think of as strategic or acceptable losses) has little traction on me now.

I was not at the Battle of Corellia IC or OOC - do not blame me those actions
