my guitarist showed up at my house today at about 12:30 and asked me if i'd heard about the london attacks. i hadnt of course because im badly in withdrawal and had gotten up a half hour before. so we sat on the porch, me unshaven and in a pair of pyjama pants, smoked cigarettes, listened to the radio and recorded two songs with the sound of the news reports in the background.

this is a fairly common sight for my neighbours -- when my roommates are there especially it is easier to just record out back. but one of them was curious as to why the radio was on while we recorded.

my answer was "context".

I am an Emergency Services Worker and I can say that if they still continue there is a considerable amount of damage and work to be done before the actual rescue is attempted. Before Scotland Yard will let any fire or rescue personnel onto the scene, it must be cleared of any explosives - -they have to sweep the area thoroughly,. The engineers have to arrive and see if the tunnel is safe for entry then need to collaborate with command to have it shored up. Then the rescue itsef goes on.

I mean only to support the Kingdom of Great Britian. I am an honourable man and mindless bloodshed is unspeakable. If there is anyway I can be of service, feel free to let me know - -up to and including an emergency trip to London

I've been rather worried about all this. Haven't heard a word from family.
