be prepared to pay for the Scottish Fold.. expensive kitties, but if you check with your local SPCA and get on a list for that breed, you can probably find a Maine Coon

Yeah, both are going to be expensive but I don't care. Heck, I spent almost a grand on my dog. They're adorable kitties and I like their dispositions.

if you work through your local SPCA or Humane Society, you can get animals of any breed for just the adoption fee and/or the cost of what ever medical they'd had to have.
Edit: go to http://www.petfinder.org/ they have 41 scottish folds listed nationwide, might be one near you and 1538 Maine Coons listed...
