Don't write it off as horrible just yet. You may have tried it once before, but mayble it'll be better this time.

TRF tends to focus more on story than on anything else, so if you find your training to be boring and rote, ask whoever you're training with how you could spice it up a little. We've allowed full-bore RP's as training in the past, no reason why it can't be done again. The key is to do it well.

Well I was thinking I could have a Master, but I can still travel the galaxy and train and such like that.... rather than the formal training thread with a certain number of posts and certai guidelines to teach etc..

Not unfeasible, it is certainly possible for you to 'self-train', and to roleplay it all out so we can all see.

We are just wary of those who are new attempting to do this simply because you may not know everything yourself.

(hell you may already do know everything, I don't know heh)

Bear in mind 'rank status' will still be determined by the force council.

Oh I know, I have achieved Master status elsewhere, but on dfferent characters... so I've been through training myself and others. In fact next month will be the 2nd yr I've been role-playing (which isnt long compared to most of you guys); but anyways... I can train etc... you wont see:

fuck that duck
Eh? Oh, that's perfectly reasonable. As long as you don't try and use a purple lightsaber or something, you're golden.

Conversely, use a golden lightsaber, and you're purple.

There are two Shadow Jedi and two Rogue Jedi left in the TRF galaxy. Actively roleplayed there exist only one of each. So yeah, chances of you getting lost in the shuffle is a bit less likely,

Hmmm.... is there anyway I could provide a sample of my writing and maybe just become a Knight? If not... I'll go through training, I know that admins tend to frown on it because its the easy way out... etc.

No, not at all...

(taken from TRF's rules page):

Inter-board Rank Transfers
Occasionally a prospective new member may wish to transfer their existing rank from the board on which they have role-played, to TRF. As a general rule, what happens on a different board has absolutely no bearing on what happens on TRF. We have our own timeline, our own characters, and our own board. What happens on another board does not happen on TRF unless someone writes it out as their own story.

If you wish to try transfer your rank from another board to TRF, your character must meet the requirements listed above (modified for your situation). You must then post a thread in either the OOC or Communications forum listing the threads you have taken part in. The more threads you can link to, the better. However, we are interested primarily in your writing quality, rather than quantity.

Another general rule concerning rank transfers is that anyone requesting such a transfer will have to go through a trial period prior to receiving a transfer. This period usually consists of the transferee receiving a temporary rank one level below the requested rank, and the requirement that the transferee spend some time writing on TRF. Once a few stories have been participated in and completed, you may resubmit your request, with links to your threads on TRF, and the Force Council will reevaluate your request and return a decision.

Eg: If you request a Master rank transfer, and meet all the basic requirements listed above, you will be given the temporary rank of Knight, and will be required to participate heavily in one or two RP’s on TRF. Once these are done, the Force Council will return a permanent decision.

Ya, but thats talking about rank transfer and because of ez's piece of shit system all my threads were lost... at east the stuff I was good at. If I should my one paragraph posts to myself I would make me be a padawan so its useless anyways.

I was talking about maybe making an acception if I drew up a sample post for the Force Council...

maybe?
