Sidious had a clone. Like he cares who threw him down a shaft.

True but I think he did care some, because once he lost the ability to guide his forces in battle, 1 Death Star, 1 Super Star Destroyer, and 17 Imperial Star Destroyers were destroyed/captured, which isn't exactly a small pill to swallow.

According to what I have read Padme does die in childbirth but only because of the whole effect of childbirth+ being choked not one or the other but BOTH combined
