Wow you're right and everyone else is wrong then just because you say so. Good job. Apparently I said that she should be perfect even though I made it clear that that's NOT what I said.
"Demos":
You evidently believe that people should be perfect, all the time, no matter what. Otherwise you would have some sympathy for the cashier.
So the fact that you think I didn't sympathize with the cashier equates to, I believe people should be perfect. That statement doesn't make any sense.
"Demos":
Saying that "well, she works in retail, she should 'control her actions'" is laughable, because there's really not a lot to be 'controlled' in her actions.
Of course there is, unless I'm mistaken she controls how she speaks with people right? When asked a question she can respond however she CHOOSES.
"Demos":
She didn't really do anything to belittle Heazure, she was simply not very friendly. The comment about the pen is a bit much, yeah, but some people are just like that. And she does have a point - it is her pen! Who knows - maybe she took Heazure asking "Do you have a pen?" in the wrong way. After all, Heazure was having a bad day.
No she wasn't very friendly, nobody ever said you had to be friendly to work at a grocery store. You shouldn't be rude though even if you're arent friendly.
"heazure":
"These are on two different WIC checks, I'm not sure if you have to do it separetely or not". She stared at me for a moment then said in a monotone way "You have to sign them first then give them to me".
If it stopped here it wouldn't have been that big of a deal. Heazure and her boyfriend might have later shared a glance and thought that the cashier was kind of rude. But it didn't.
"Heazure":
Already feeling that she was in a bad mood, I said "Do you have a pen?" She stared at me in silence again then finally said "You have to say please first" in a huffy tone, finishing with "It's MY pen."
You can disagree with me if you choose. But personally, I think there was no reason for this.
"Heazure":
Really, I don't see a problem. That look of "disgust" was probably imagined, and even if not it did no harm to anyone.
So it's OK to assume that Heazure's not telling the truth, but it's not OK to assume that she is telling the truth. Gotcha. Your idea of harm and Heazure's idea of harm are obviously different.
"Heazure":
Whereas the woman losing her job could do real harm to several people. Is that really justified because she didn't treat Heazure like a God? She did her job - albiet not as well as she could have.
I never said she had to treat Heazure "like a God", just without the rudeness.
It's not my decision or even Heazure's whether or not the woman gets to keep her job. That will be up to her boss. But if she DOES lose her job it won't be anyone's fault but her own.
Obviously this conversation is going nowhere. Bottom line is Heazure was offended and had a very unpleasant experience while going to the store. I am of the opinion that the cashier didn't have to be rude to her, if you don't think she was rude to her, great. We obviously have a different opinion.
I'm of the opinion that employees who interact with customers can do things like treat people with respect and control what they say to people. That's all. I'll go ahead and agree to disagree with you rather than arguing on and on when it's obvious that it'll go nowhere. I respect your right to have an opinion whatever that opinion may be.
"Demos":
Wow, Zell. Congratulations on being an uncaring, zealous bastard with no concern for anyone else!
I don't think there was any point in this thread where I made a personal attack against you was there? I was just stating my opinion since everyone was bashing on Heazure. It's amazing that in all your talk about me being uncaring, you can be so quick to call me an "uncaring, zealous bastard" just because I disagreed with you.
