Blink If You Can Hear Me
Heinlein is odd. I've read Friday and Fear No Evil. JOB is waiting here whenever I want to read it.
OS: In a world of bon-bons, you are a twinkie.
Ahnk: God damn you, I am Count Chocula and you know it.

Money Makes the Galaxy Go Round
Just finished Homeward Bound by Turtledove..

Was it good???

I have been waiting for that book forever.... I thought the last "Colonization" book left off far too abruptly and was very open ended.

I just read the latest installment of "The Great War" series- its tranceded into yet another set, "Settling Accounts". I have alos started his new stand alone novel "Days of Infamy".

"And what exactly is wrong with the name Thumper?"
Also, I'm reading the Castle by Franz Kafkha

Tried to read that a while ago, couldn't make it past the first fifty pages. Does it pick up after the beginning, or am I just lazy?

Demo: Sounds interesting. Although I have no idea who you were talking about with the Templar...might pick it up though...

fuck that duck
Knights Templar are basically an ancient organization founded to guard the Holy Grail. They attained great power and were eventually (mostly) destroyed by the Pope... I forget most of it now.
"So the woman asked me what I wanted on the sandwich and I said I do not care it is for a duck, and she was like oh then it's free. I was not aware that ducks eat for free at Subway. It's like give me a chicken fajita sub, but don't worry about ringing it up, it is for a duck.”

It was interesting but not on par with the first 5 book Worldwar Series. Still, I was wondering how he was going to pull it off. It ended kind of sad tho, imo.

I read Settling Accounts Book 1. It was pretty good. Book II Drive the East is supposed to be out in August, I think. I finished In the Presence of Mine Enemies a few months back. I almost picked up Days of Infamy but held off to start the Bernard Cornwell King Arthur series: The Winter King, The Enemy of God and Excalibur. I need to read the last one.

Sword of Truth series book 11(?) Chainfire is out though I'll probably wait for paperback.

If you want a very cool Civil War Alternate History book, pick up Gettysburg by Newt Gingrich and William Forstchen. I've read it, loved it and looking for Book II Grant Goes East.

Yesterday I finished that SW Battle Surgeons book. It's interesting so I'll probably pick up Book 2 as well.

I read Star Trek: Ex Machina the day before. it was .. eh..

Currently reading a Ben Bova book called Orion (oldy and a freebie I got a bookstore so I decided to read it).

Brutus - If you liked the World War Series, try looking for The Lost Regiment Series by William Forstchen (book 1 is Rally Cry). It entertained me immensely. You might have trouble with some of the books (It's 9 books so far) as some are out of print. This series reminded me alot of Turtledove's Misplaced Legion series. If you haven't read Misplaced Legion, highly recommended.

Chung Kuo series (David Wingrove) was pretty good as well. Still looking for the out of print book 8.

I've read Shogun and watched the miniseries. I have Gai Jin, Tai Pan, Noble House and Whirlwind. Tai Pan and Noble House were my fav's. Never read King Rat.

Strip Tease For Me, Baby / Tie Me To The Bed, Dear
I just finished reading a book called The Deeds of Paksennarion... pretty good, I liked it even if I skimmed parts where troops movements were detailed. Lady who wrote it is former military and it shows.

I love to read just about anything by Harry Turtledove , who is the "master" of a little known genre called Alternate History.

Fuckin ay, mad set of series'.
