So what? I'm fully entitled to my opinion on music, and I'm fully entitled to dislike intensely the type of music I dislike intensely. I'd much rather be blunt than be tactful about it, so people know not to bring it up in front of me again. I don't hate Deimos for liking R&B and hip-hop, but I do hate R&B and hip-hop, so why not point this fact out?

It is music, just a different kind of music. Music that focuses more on the beat and lyrics than melody and such.It's a shame that the majority of rap "lyrics" tend to be about rape and murder and the degredation of woman.
Okay, maybe that's not true. But the most popular rappers lyrics are, and therefor they set a generalization for the entire genre.
That being said, there is not a single example of rap/hip hop that I like. Though I admit it is good dance music.
