To be honest, you can do it either way imo. Wait till the thread is done or do it as you go. However, I would perhaps mark where one takeover ends and another begins for verification of word counts and all (if you request as you go).
The 5,000 words required to conquer a planet must occur over at least three posts and over 6 OOC (real time) days.
You may capture only one planet per six days. You may have more than one takeover going at once, however.
You can post as many takeover threads as you want. However if you end all the threads at the same time, and make a request for 3 planets... they will be spread over 6 OOC days. This is, tho, a rare occassion. Even TNO, with their planetary takeovers going simultaneously do not complete them at the same time.
On thing to watch out for tho.. is while your thread may finish on say the 20th... if you wait till the 24th to post a request for the planet to be added to your group, the staff will usually look at the request date and not the date the actual thread finished. We usually assume a request would follow on the heels of a completed rp, but if you wait... you may be a victim of that situation and lose 4 days time over it.
