As his Master spoke, Kahn realized that he did want to honor Hanna's memory, that he wouldn't want her to act the way he was if it had been his life that had been taken. So, he silently resolved to make an effort. Slowly, he rose to his feet, feeling as though he weighed so much more than he had before he recieved the tragic news.
"I'll try, Amalia. I'm not promising anything, but I'll try. For Hanna, and for you. And maybe....if I heal....for myself."
To himself, however, Kahn also made another promise. He would not love anyone as he had loved Hanna; he would not allow his heart to be shared with any other lover as long as he lived. As much as the Jedi had wanted children, he now realized that he would not accept them now if they came from someone other than Hanna. No, it seemed clear, to Kahn at least, that he was destined to live alone.
