Radon’s ship came out of hyperspace approximately 43000 meters from Metak. The Republic-class Star Destroyer Harmony deployed its fighters in a wedge. The fighters shot in toward the atmosphere of the planet so as to assist in the destruction of the enemy fighters. The Harmony moved at normal speed toward the other two Tholatin Republic ships that were orbiting the planet. The Harmony halted in what would be a permanent orbit, but it wont be because the ship wont be there permanently. The Harmony hailed the Starfire, and was recognized immediately. They were given permission to send over a shuttle. Radon exited the bridge at this point, and headed for the shuttle bay. Entering the shuttle bay, he walked up the ramp of his shuttle. The shuttle took off and moved out of the bay. The wing pylons came down and the ship headed over to the Starfire. Five minutes later, the shuttle was docked and Radon was heading for the bridge. He entered a turbolift, and shot up to the bridge. Stepping out, he walked over to Grand Admiral Raktus.
“Greetings, Grand Admiral. I am Rear-Admiral Radon Mont. I am here to assist in the takeover. Prince Kamon gave me specific orders. You are to take a break and rest in your quarters, while I control the ground troops. I specialize in ground troops. The Takeover wont take much longer, and The New Republic is getting a little antsy. They want their planet soon, because they want to get rid of the ships that they are holding for us. So, move along. Unless you dislike the orders?”
Raktus shook his head, and got up.
“I’ll be in my quarters,” he said.
“Ok.”
Raktus left the bridge, and Radon sat down. He called up the status of the takeover on his datapad, and skimmed over it. Everything seemed good. 25 E-wings had been destroyed, but that was it. It wasn’t a serious loss, but a loss is a loss. Some troops were being readied in the landing bay; the others were already on the planet. A bulletin flashed on the screen. The last enemy fighter had been destroyed. This was good. All fighters were making strafing runs on the enemy ground troops. He called up a scan of the planets surface. Enemy troops, numbering in the thousands, were attacking the ground troops. Fighter strafing runs slaughtered the enemy troops. After the first pass, at least a thousand were dead. But 8000 still remained. He decided to use an old but good tactic. He had the ships launch all their Lambda’s that carried troops, too the planet. Once they landed and had deployed their troops, he had the Lambda’s keep their wings down and fly through the mass of enemy troops at high speeds. More enemy troops died. A lot of enemy troops. They only numbered at 5000 troops. Radon smiled. He moved out of the chair, and went over to the Comm. Officer.
“Have the troops fan out and assault the enemy in groups of 25. Make sure each group has a sniper with them.”
“Yes, sir.” The Officer replied. The enhanced scan showed the troops complying with the order. One group in particular drew his attention. They charged up the middle of the enemy troops, throwing Thermal Detonators and firing like crazy. 'They are either suicidal, or they have a plan. So which one is it?'
