Speaking IC - The Empire represents those sworn to the oursuit of Order, the eradication of chaos, and the furtherance of the Common Good. Greatness is seen as the mastering of courage gallantry and chivalry in the righteous stamping out of all that seeks disorder and rebellion.
Really though we do have an excellent Intelligence section, composing Imperial Intelligence and the Inquisition. The former is responsible for mainly external security and the neutralizing of threats from without; the latter protects from within. Think of them, if you know Soviet history, as the KGB and GRU, respectively.
All factions here have much to offer - the Crusade promises wanton devastation; the Empire martial strength and victory; the Coalition democracy and freedom; the Black Dragon Empire promises faith and glory in a cybernetic society; the Confederation promises chaos, revolution, and constant battle with the Empire. There are also the Jedi scattered to the wind by His Majesty the Emperor, the Sith His right hand in spreading Order to the Corners of the Cosmos, and so many others including an Underworld of crime deceipt and misdeed with the Union - -and of course, the most important - the ones you haven't created yet.
TRF is a community years old and still evolving, marred by OOC debates, home of some of the greatest writing in SW history, composed of a cross section of society more diverse than the a Manhattan town hall meeting.

Yeah, us Coalition types aren't bothering to recruit. Which is in no way a shot at the newcomer (trust me, we like new recruits) I'm not doing it because a new recruit should reasonably be recruited by someone who has posted ICly sometime in the past 4 months.
Anyway, welcome to TRF, glad to have you here. Feel free to look around at the various different groups and choose which one most interests you (preferably not TNO, and not because I hate TNO, but because they don't need any more help). But if you decide to join TNO that's cool as well (I'll just try to have you assassinated, but no hard feelings, k?).
