The Rebel Faction

Once everyone had arrived and settled into their seats, the meeting comminced. This time in addition to Naosha, Varcanna was present as well. They started out by filling those two in on the events that brought about this meeting.

"First the Coalition...now the Jedi Order itself..." Naosha said with a sigh. "Is there no one we can trust to stay together besides the Serens and the Wookiees?"

"It certainly isn't making our task of iimproving our image any easier." Varcanna remarked with a gruff.

"As for this thing with the Rebellion, I'm afraid the Council as a whole won't go for it: there's too much at stake to openly oppose the Empire right now. With several Clans having opposed our joining the Coalition, a couple of them suggesting we join the Empire instead, there is little doubt they would snitch any direct involvement with Rebellion to the Empire. Until we can silence the opposing factions, it would be too risky to do so. However, individual T'Doshok can join the Rebellion as they see fit, but I would caution them against bragging about to just anyone for the same reasons. The rogue Clans would likely use anythign ot try to over throw the current status quo."

Rissonik gave Lavality a slight 'told you so' look but didn't say anything.

"The next issue is this problem with these Force Hunters that have come up." Trazu said. "There's little doubt they've heard of my presence at the trial not long ago and our seeking my identity, if they hadn't already found it. With that in mind, Silonik and Mortor won't be safe here."

"As fortified as this place is?" Natira said. "Why not?"

"The most desperate and resourceful of assassins can get in anywhere...despite the security measures installed." Asri replied. "I know...cause I dwelt with a couple of those kinds of jobs years ago."

"Aye, even something as simple as a cloaking device, which have been used against us before, can cause us problems." Trazu said. "I won't always be available to detect such threats."

"Plus if they get a real bug of their ass they could somehow shoot a bomb our way..." Tiosk grumbled. "We have no defence against that."

"But where do we hide the little ones?" Naosha said. "With the Jedi Order gone, there's really no safe place for them."

"I'm am making a safe bet that the Rebellion will likely have Jedi helping them." Rane offered. "If so, we can leave the pair in their charge: they'll have both protection and someone to continue their training."

"Agreed, but until we can confirm this, those two will have to stay here under constant guard." Trazu said.

“I think that will work.” Asri said. “The forces of the Rebellion would no doubt have to move many times to keep the Empire wiping them out: not exactly a stable environment for learning.”

“Good point.” Trazu said with a sigh. “That’s what the old Rebellion had to do.” He looked at his parents, whom nodded in agreement. “We’ll accept this arrangement Lavality, thank you.”

“With that little problem settled, we have just two more to figure out.” Tiosk muttered.

“Really only one, since we all basically agreed it would be a bad idea to have Trandosha support the Rebellion officially and directly.”

“Oh yes…the Force Hunters….and the other rogue factions in my opinion.” Tiosk growled. “As long as they are active any big plans and actions would risk being exposed to the Empire by them.”

“Before we continue, there’s something more immediate I think we should address.” Rane said before looking at Lavality. “Are you well Lavality? You’ve been trembling ever since we arrived at the station and I don’t think it’s from anxiety or nervousness of this meeting since you are familiar with almost everyone here. I’ve also noticed you looking around like something, or someone else should be here but isn’t.”

Asri looked at her widened eyes. “Hun…you are shaking….”

Asri looked extremely concerned and Trazu's eyes narrowed.

"Lavality...if there weren't two other Force adept people in this room your lie may have worked." Trazu said sternly. "I realize you may just be trying to keep us from worrying about you, but if this is a potentially life threatening ailment you can't afford to hide it."

"He's right hun." Asri said. "If you were to fall now, all the work you did to get the Serendivus back in order would be for naught. It may stay intact for a little while, but without you it woud surely crumble and succumb to rogue forces like it did before."

"As your friends and allies...." Rissonik added. "You need to trust us and we to trust you. We are not asking to know every secret: Goddess knows our Clan has or own."

Trazu then sensed the presence Lavality must have been. He recognized it as the spirit that normally resided within Lavality, but obviously wasn't right now. ~Aren't you normally in Lavality?~ He asked it via Force telepathy.

“A virus…you mean like the one that’s in….” Natira started.

“Not likely.” Tiosk interrupted loudly. “The one you are referring to daughter has been active for years.” He leaned close to her and whispered harshly. “Watch your tongue daughter….of the people in this room, only Rissonik knows of it.”

“Oh….” Natira whispered, blushing with embarrassment. “I…I didn’t know….”

Tiosk sighed. “I should have told you that before….so I’m the one at fault.”

“How many people know of this?” Asri asked. “And is it curable?” A part of her doubted it since Lavality no doubt would have had it taken care of ages ago if that was so.

Meanwhile Trazu was in thought and glanced in the direction the spirit was. ~It was you that was suppressing it, weren’t you? That’s why the virus is acting up now isn’t it?~ He asked her via Force telepathy.

“Have you considered having a doctor take a sample of this virus and studying it?” Trazu asked Lavality, going with the spirits suggestion. “At the very least, we can determine what kind of virus it is….”

“We do have a couple of scientists on the grounds that specialize in that kind of area.” Rissonik offered. “Mainly because, sadly, in this day and age we want to be prepared for any kind of attack. At best though, like with one of our own, the best we may be able to do is suppress it.”

One of our own? Trazu thought, he and Asri glancing at each other. Who is in talking about? He remembered how Natira was cut off so quickly by Tiosk when she was commenting on Lavality’s condition, followed by some no doubt harsh words to her in a low voice. Tiosk’s expression when Rissonik said his piece clued him in as well. Is it Tiosk? No…I’m sure the military would have forcibly retired him years ago. Natira? He studied her a moment. No, I don’t sense anything odd about her health wise, though I didn’t train myself to look for such things…that would leave….

His eyes widened slightly. Silliss! It makes sense….that man always seemed a bit lanky for someone of his blood. But why hide it from everyone? Another glance at Asri told him the answer. Of course: he would be shunned…even cast out by most of society if it became public knowledge, especially if his virus is contagious…. He turned this thoughts to his concern about Lavality. What puzzled him was why the spirit couldn’t get back into her. He knew there were things out there that could block the Force, but if that was the case Lavality wouldn’t be able to use the Force if it was on her person would she? The spirit said she got out of Lavality when she felt the presence of the Sith on the station, so either this ‘block’ occurred during the brief time the spirit was willingly out of her or it was applied at some point after the last time the spirit was able to go back inside. That was…on Korribon wasn’t it? ~When was the last time you were able to enter her without issue?~ He asked the spirit.
