The Rebel Faction

I've got a go do something for a bit, I think it would be good for someone to summarize all our ideas we've talked about in this thread in a reply so that we can look at it in overview and decide on anything left to decide upon!

I'm working on something at the moment as well. Should be done by this evening. Time for me to head out though.

Just want to say that it's good to see the cooperation and effort that's gone into this idea so far

edit - maybe a weeklong deadline should be put up, in terms of the layout design. That would give artists from other boards time to put something together, especially if they're not at their computers during the weekend. That way everyone gets a chance to submit something.

Summary of Ideas for Link Directory:

+ Link Directory hosted off the SW boards, or at least a different domain name.

+ Matching (same content, not same 'look' necessarily) link directories on each SW board that can host one.

+ Boards tentatively interested in being a part, so far:
- The Rebel Faction
- SW: Evolution
- Sw-Fans
- Sith Lore
- The Gungan Council
- SW: Unforeseen Destiny
- Shadows in the Force
- GOTOR
- SW: Epics
- JediBites

+ Links directory should be attractive - a mix of graphics and text.
- possible that a board could request that for their hosted link directory that the banners be made in a separate color scheme
- possible that all banners should be made in greyscale
- it was proposed that everyone who would like to should design what the separately hosted links directory should look like, and then the involved boards can vote on the final look.

+ ezboard based SW boards could easily host one page that directs people to their ezboard, which takes care of the problem of the ezboard changing, or if they move. See sithlore.com as an example of such a page.
- googlepages are free and easy to use if you have a gmail account.

+ participating boards should not be party to flaming or bashing of members of other participating sites.
- maybe if this becomes a problem the admins of participating boards could have a meeting about removing the offending board from the links directory, or finding another solution with the offending board?

TGC - represented by me wants to participate, Sith Lore has also in this thread stated they wish to.

That has nothing to do with the portal though nor would it get reflected in the portal. If TGC started the idea and has been pushing it this entire time why shouldn't we be included? I did get ceel to remove that ridiculous Genius's that hate Us thread.
