It isn't even about numbers. Democracy is about protecting minority rights as much as it is about respecting majority opinion.

Of course you want to repsect minority rights..... but Democracy is about Majority rule. A democracry (in theory) is a government which listens to the concearns of all sides and parties involved, and does the best it can for each side. Compromise is critical. In the event no such agreements of solutions can be adressed, then the democracy tries ti do what will bes suit a moajority of its citizens, rather than pander to the will of a minority.

A government that doesn't represent the views of the majority of its people is not a true government at all- it is repression.

Its very interesting though, these middle eastern countries who dont respect women are willing to elect one as their "president".

Strange and interesting

I know India isnt (exactly) in the middle east, and i know that they dont have a HUGE reputation of disrespecting women.

My statement was slightly off topic, and i was reffering to the middle-east as well as india.

I think what is trying to be said is that American media sucks and gives you a bias point of view to other countries.

I just felt like adding in my own hatred for America where none is needed.
