Chaandar, Im not giving for the pure physics of it. Your not even arguing with in the frame of mind the post your arguing against was in. It aimed at the area it detected as the probable point of hyperspace reversion, not at a ship or a ghost. Your post disregards this fact altogether to save an insignificant fighter. You said it yourself, no major outcome in the war, so give it up or write a real counter post.

You had under one minute to activate a planetary shield network that depends on you having specific people at specific locations, concentrating their efforts to raise a force shield network. You ever wake up in the morning and in 45 seconds get into the shower? Hows about downtown or even down the street? And there is my point. Maybe a regular shield, but not your force one.

I feel you shouldnt even be able to raise it in time at all, let alone having my missle ram into it. So I comprimised by having it both destroy my missle while at the same time achieving its own goal of penitrating the atmosphere.

You know what? I've had a thought.

These two things are the real sticking points, and really, they're so trivial I shouldn't be arguing them.

I mean, one fighter, okay. I disagree with you, that much I understand, and I loathe writing in death unless it's absolutely, positively necessary (like in a pitched battle or some such thing) or was going to happen anyways (People die in the Empire, at the hands of the Empire, so I guess we can assume that happens sometimes.). However, despite how it goes against how I like to write, I guess for the sake of moving the thread forwards and getting on with it, I'll accept that a fighter could be brought down. My condition, however, is that perspective is a tricky thing in space. What your crew thought from the last second of feedback was certain death could well be, instead, crippled. Engines fried and systems damaged. A fair compromise?

As for the missile, we can move on with that. I don't fear the Phage as much as I used to, because I realize that not even medical things are as by-the-numbers as a doomsday clock would suggest. Half a missile dumping the cargo of Phage on to the mountains can be dealt with, so I'll acquiesce to that, and we'll move on to the next set of missiles.

I dont get your point about Gravity... The fleet is on the edge of the system, if your blocking communications at the planet then your not blocking communications with my fleet. So please axplain your meaning.


As for detecting the location of the communications block, if it is indeed coming from somewhere near me where it would be blocking me, would be fairly simple. You see, typically, jamming is done by filling all useable communication frequeinces with useless jabber and tons of computer generated interferance. It be like blinding your enemy with a flashlight to the face, you cant see him but you sure as hell know where he was when he blinded you. Simple matter of figuring out the loudest part of space in the block out. Like finding a sub in the ocean.


Dont act like they are ignoring it, or completely disabling it. Like a good portion of my missles, they are designed to bore through shields, which if you read the post, is what ONE of them did, not both. As well, if you read the PIM R&D, which is the shell these missles use, its designed to take the damage of your elite missle defense system. I didnt wipe out your ship, I didnt destroy its shields, its not half dead. Its just got a rather large missle lodged in its head emitting EMP pulses.

Outside the system actually, from the second to third post the Arbiter drifted both out of the system and a distance from it. Thats where it opened up the wormhole and brought the ships in.

Dolashes post never said where his ships were in relation to mine, except they were nearby, meaning out of the system to its edge. As I read it, hes on top of me and retreating in a quick hit and run, which gives me the opprotunity to hit him back.

As for the gravity well bit, read the Ghoul R&D, specificaly the engine shielding and hyperdrive.
