I've been considering the 6GB iPod Mini some more, mostly because it will hold all my music and then some - the 4GB nano will just barely hold what I have now.


If anyone else is having this dilemma - trying to choose between a mini and a nano - I'd suggest you make up your mind post haste. As far as I know the nano has been introduced as a replacement for the mini, the upshot of this being that the mini will soon be phased out and become unavailable for purchase. Least that's what I've heard.

Yup. Apple.com has already removed all mention of the iPod Mini, it's all about the nano. I'm hoping to see a 6GB nano in the near future; as far as I know the only limitation right now is keeping it to its current size. Nano is a flash-based player, and I've yet to see a flash drive larger than 4GB. Once a 6+GB flash player can be made to fit, expect more options in Nano capacity.

But if you want an iPod today...

Best bang for you buck, imo, if you can find one, is a refubished second-gen iPod 20GB.

... Am I the only one here who doesn't own one of these things ? I just burn all my downloaded music onto audio CDs, and then decide which ones to buy first. Right now I'm waiting for about 8 tapes which I ordered through the post (yes, tapes, as in audio cassettes) and I'm also looking towards getting my old record player fixed, too.
